Bmwolf21
At the time, I was thinking how funny/ironic it would be if she actually sues Lynch for American care precisely because of what you and Lori were saying. In essence, after all I have heard about the "wonders" of the Canadian health care system(from the clueless), one thing this could boil down to is the fact that a Canadian would rather sue to get better care and/or not have to stand in line, by getting care in the US. I can only imagine the minor meltdown it would cause socialists to go through. That, given a real choice, "free" health care provided by Canada or "free" health care provided by Mr. Lynch or, to be fair, whoever hit her, she would sue to get Mr. Lynch's care, is a direct and poignant shot at them. Especially when you consider that she wouldn't probably see the money for a least a year after all the legal wrangling. This poor girl could end up going from just going out, to poster girl for the health care debate. I laugh at the ridiculous and that would be ridiculous. OC, am I missing the connection or an inside joke WRT your avatar of Tim Russert with the Flutie Flakes and your quote underneath?

todd
Ralphie's gonna drop an Erie Co. phone book on the floor and Kimbertub will turn around quickly and the case will be thrown out. LOL. Good one Mr. Brady!
Chalkie Gerzowski
Too bad Marshawn wasn't around back in the day...he could have had himself a cameo appearance on the Brady Bunch. Parlaying wit and wisdom to a cocky upstart like Greg who changed his stripes to football after throwing his baseball career down the drain when he didn't listen to Don Drysdale. OCinBuffalo
This is such a stretch-Implying that suing the person who ran you over with an SUV and then drove away is somehow an indictment of Canadian health care is pretty lame. Perhaps you missed my last sentence where I said it would be ridiculous? However, given the contentious times we live in, do you really think that somehow this crazy-ass line of thinking won't be brought up sooner or later? But seriously, why would she want to sue for ongoing medical care if all she has to do is "queue up" in Canada for it? Look, this started because I thought about a ridiculous tangential line of reasoning at 12:30am, after not sleeping for 40 hours straight, regarding a premise that I didn't even bring up. It was humorous at the time, to me anyway. Go complain to Boondock and Lori for making me laugh about how funny it would be IF, IF, IF somehow health care payment/care/rationing got brought into this. Blue is right. Once again, I am being subjected to scrutiny for my lack of attention to detail regarding the status of my message board activity/account. At least this time it's not based on not using enough emoticons, eh Blue? Or was it too many? I forget. This time BlueFire is covering for me, and that's a start. I know. I just enjoy taking my twice a year shot at BlueFire for criticizing my emoticon usage, or lack thereof, so many years ago. It was really quite gay, as is my making any kind of big deal about it. However, it does bug BlueFire, and that's the fun!!! Besides, he lays down a lot of good stuff normally, so we have to find little ways to pick on him, so that he doesn't get a big head.

Wagon Circler
Marshawn made his own bed here. He's antagonized the victim (and the police for that matter) by handling this in an adversary fashion. Had he treated this as an accident (even a day or two after the incident) it might be resolved sooner and simpler. There is insurance on the vehicle which covers liability for property damage and personal injury. If he and his agent were smart, he would likely carry an umbrella policy for additional liability above and beyond the vehicle insurance (as does the dealership that owns the car I am sure). He could have filled out reports, apologized privately and publically, dealt with the misdemeanor charge for leaving the scene and let the process take care of itself. The injuries to the victim don't add up to a huge settlement, not one that would reach 7 figures, so the insurance would likely resolve this. He'd pay a fine for the misdemeanor and the harshest penalty would probably come from the league, likely a short suspension. If He had done this, then he's not the villian he is now becoming. If someone else was driving, then he and that person should have come forward in the same fashion. Instead, he's turning this into a very expensive circus. He's motivated the victim to "take him to the cleaners" along with the DA and the commissioner, and his public perception once very good, will take a severe blow here. His lawyer, knowing that the police knew who's vehicle was involved, should have looked at this whole thing and advised his client to let the insurance companies resolve the accident. The path he is now on was easily predicted and the cost IMO will be higher doing it "his way". Sure, handling this openly and honestly may not have kept the victim from suing - but every other party that will judge him and punish him (and/or the driver of the car) for this incident (the public, the NFL, the Bills and the courts) would be doing so under much better circumstances. You forget one thing . He was probably drunk at thetime. He risked trying to get away with it versus the damage to his rep. from a drunk driving charge.
