I can't help you with the 4 am thing, but I have found that most of the opening day hunters don't travel far from roads, so I just get in shape and hike to the places no one else will. stuckincincy Posted June 16, 2008 Share Posted June 16, 2008 Sitting in a treestand waiting for your prey might just be the closest think there is to Heaven on earth, at least it is for me. I have come home empty handed and still had the best day afield because I saw something that amazed me while I waited, things that you would never see at Wegmans. Killing isn't the only reason I go out, but eating something I harvested has a special appeal to me. No scent lures, calls, or salt licks, I hope...
