Buftex
Nice how your take on this comes up "convienently" when the Celts are in the Finals... Like I said about the past and how the Celts would have never moved out of BOS... They are very much the darlings of the league and always have been... Because, IMO of that run in the 1960's... And other issues historically that I won't go into here. I caught a glimpse of game 2 I think and immediately turned it of when Kobe got charged with that early foul... I try to watch the game... But, I can't even get through a minute of that rigged crap. At least the NHL can somewhat hide it... The NBA... Nothing "convenient" about it. The Donaghy accusation that there is a leauge mandate for the refs to control the outcomes of games just came out. Since everyone is assuming that Donaghy is telling the truth, you have to consider that the Lakers were the direct beneficeries of the cheating in question. If the Celtics have been the "darlings of the leauge", and there has been all of this effort put into manipulating results, why did it take them 22 years to get around to letting the "darlings" into the finals? Why aren't the New York Knicks in the finals, not to mention, the finals every now and again? Its' okay not to like the NBA...I don't have any use for baseball...so I just kind of let it pass... BTW- I love the NHL too. In fact, it is my priority when the two leauges collide, unless "gang green" is playing! They haven't been getting enough calls the last 22 years to interfere with the NHL! Isiah Thomas. There's only so much the league can do to help the sorry cast of players Isiah has assembled in the Garden. While I find it harder to believe that the league has favorite franchises that they always want to win, I don't have any doubt that they could look at individual games/series/seasons and tweak things to favor one team or another, push the ratings up a little more here or there, or make sure a bigger market is still alive as long as possible. There's just too much money at stake for me to believe there aren't people in the league offices who want to make sure the business stays as profitable as possible for as long as possible, even if it means calling 200 fouls on the Celts in one game and then swinging back the other way in the next one.
