plenzmd1 Posted June 6, 2008 Share Posted June 6, 2008 From the Buffalo news Tonawanda man injured in suicide attempt at Grand Island bridge A suicide attempt early this morning left a 43-year-old Tonawanda man seriously injured after he fell about 80 feet from the southbound South Grand Island Bridge, State Police reported. The man, described as distraught over marital problems, climbed over the railing and fell onto a rock wall next to the Niagara River shortly after 12:45 a.m. He was taken to Erie County Medical Center, where he was treated for massive facial trauma and a broken leg. State Police were assisted by the U.S. Coast Guard, the Erie County Sheriff's Department, Tonawanda police and Grand Island police.
