The man might be the worst public speaker I have ever heard, he was painful to listen to.
EndZoneCrew Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 oh my god...I was thinking the samething....THAT GUY is their spokesperson...I counted like 132 uhhhhums!
Just Jack Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Sounds like Ted Turner. He spoke at my brothers graduation and at the end of every sentence was "and ummm..."
jayg Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 He spoke at mine as well. I thought the whole time he was a little drunk. Sounds like Ted Turner. He spoke at my brothers graduation and at the end of every sentence was "and ummm..."
bdelma Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 How did get through the interview process, if they had one.
Just Jack Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 How did get through the interview process, if they had one. Well, ummm, he spoke really good, and uhhh... other stuff.
The Senator Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Anyone hear him on WGR today? ahhh ummm ummm ahh hhhh hit ahhh uummmm ahhh run ahhh umm ummm police ahhh um How in the world did this guy get a sports anchor job or a job as a spokesman for the police? bschmoove Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 I remember that guy when I was in middle school. Only in Buffalo can a no talent hack stick around in the media for so long and still have a job ... oh wait, I just described most of Buffalo's sports beat writers. Pathetic.
BillnutinHouston Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Thanks Mike - making us fellow Canisius grads proud. At least ah, um, ah, I think he was a Canisius grad.
ET1062 Posted June 4, 2008 Author Posted June 4, 2008 This could be a game almost like the "count the jelly beans in the jar' game. How many times does Mike DeGeorge say ah or um in this interview? http://wgr550.com/Audio-Archive---Schopp--...Bulldog/1271132
Buftex Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Jeez...that is brutal... "As you can, umm, unerstand, umm, at, umm, this time, uhh...we, umm, can't uh, really, uh, emmm discuss the umm, shortage of uhhh, maps, that uh, the Iraq are un...ummm, experiencing at uhhh this, umm time...uhhh...emmm"
MarkyMannn Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 In TV, wouldn't he had been reading from a tele-prompter? On an interview, obviously that is as "live" as it gets. Other times I've seen him he does do that uh.........thing a lot
Guffalo Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 He makes us ST Joes grads even more proud. I graduated in 78 with him, nice guy, pretty decent at sports, but not really a speaker that I recall, kinda quiet in class.
RJ (not THAT RJ) Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 He makes us ST Joes grads even more proud. I graduated in 78 with him, nice guy, pretty decent at sports, but not really a speaker that I recall, kinda quiet in class. Ah, he's a graduate of the Institute... that explains it. RJ, CHS '85

My Friends Call Me Tebucky Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 that was really hard to listen to...I kind of feel bad for the guy.
ET1062 Posted June 4, 2008 Author Posted June 4, 2008 that was really hard to listen to...I kind of feel bad for the guy. If he were a police officer who isn't educated in communicatios I would feel bad for the guy. The fact is, this guy is paid by the City of Buffalo to be interviewed and give verbal statements and is he god awful. Another big waste of tax payer money.
Max Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Anyone hear him on WGR today? ahhh ummm ummm ahh hhhh hit ahhh uummmm ahhh run ahhh umm ummm police ahhh um How in the world did this guy get a sports anchor job or a job as a spokesman for the police? The man might be the worst public speaker I have ever heard, he was painful to listen to. He was probably just nervous
