zevo Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 So I am gettng married in August and my best man (brother) decided to go with a place taht we are familiar with and have attended a few bachelor parties at. So he booked the place and put down a deposit. A few weeks go by and we fnd out the place no longer allows "entertainment". So my question is do we forget aboutt his place and look elsewhere (losing our deposit) our do we bite the bullet and have a party without the "entertainment". My brother doesnt feel its necessary as we would have a great time regardless. I personal really wanted it but i could live without it. I have never been to one without it. Is it lame to not have it? Ths probably would be better served as a poll.

zevo Posted May 22, 2008 Author Posted May 22, 2008 Define "entertainment" first. lol. "entertainment" = strippers
EndZoneCrew Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Define "entertainment" first. C'mon...seriously Rock?
Huuuge Bills Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Depends, How much was the deposit? If the deposit was huge, you might want to just go anyways. And what is the level of "talent" you are looking to employ? If the girls weren't going to anything special, why lose out on the cash?
Sherman Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 If you are in Buffalo you can always go to Canada after the time runs out at the place you booked.
stevestojan Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 My stag (August 16th) will have no strippers. Not one of the bachelor parties my close friends and I have held/attended in the last several years have. Its a waste of time and money. We like to booze so damn much that the strippers actually get ignored (my buddy Lenny's party was the last one to have strippers -- the strippers were neglected). Go ahead and call me a fag, or whatever else, but honestly, I'd much rather have a day full of boozin and cooking out with my friends (I'm expecting roughly 100 people at mine, which will be held outside) rather than a smoke filled room with dirty strippers in it. If I was 19... hell yes. But now? I'll pass.

KD in CA Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 You can still go to the place for food and drink and hang out and then hit the clubs later if you want entertainment. That's also a good plan in the event you are kinda obligated to invite people you don't really want to be around during entertainment.
plenzmd1 Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Holy cow. How many at your wedding, a thousand? I was thinking the same thing. I must say I do not think I went to a bachelor party till I was prolly mid to late twenties. I guess mine have all been tame by comparison. Almost 100% started on a golf course, then just back to someones house for steaks, beers etc followed by a long night of poker. I would say 50% had strippers at the house, and I would say for the part that was wasted money. Would have rather bought lobsters for the 12 or so people at each party, would have been money better spent

Ths probably would be better served as a poll. I see it both ways. When me & my friends were all getting married(about 7yrs ago) we all had our stag parties. Some of us had strippers(I did) & some of us did not. I do not know what they charge now but at the time of my stag I got 2 girls & they charged $400 for the hour($200 a piece). Im sure the price of doing business has gone up. I did not get that much enjoyment out of it because I basically told the strippers to do whatever you want to my friends but take it easy on me as I knew the evil eye of my wife's father & grandfather would be watching closely. I had my real fun after the stag after me & about 10 of mine friends went up to Canada for the night. So I guess Iam trying to say, you know the people that are coming. Are they going to be mad if there are no strippers? Remember, your not only going to be out the deposit money, but probably at least another $500 for the girls. I would probably say at that price, it would not be worth it. Unless they are willing to raffle off blow jobs in the bathroom like the skanks I got.

There are people that i will not invite if there are strippers there. I am a pharmacist and know a bunch of older pharmacist friends that are invited to the wedding but would be inappropriate to invite them to the bachelor party if there were strippers. I know my father is not to keen on the idea of strppers but my father in law is all for it! Go figure. I'm sure there are some people that will be dissappointed but I guess in the long run its may be easier without the strippers.

I went to a stag party that had buses on hand to drive people over to Lundy's Lane after the stag party for whoever wanted to go, I think that is the best way to go about it. This way you arn't offending anybody(father in laws, etc.), and everybody will probably have more fun at the strip clubs then by just having a couple overpriced strippers inside of a firehall or whatever.

I was best man in my buddy's wedding a few years ago, and we had the bachelor party with some of his family and relatives, and had a good time. then a select few of us went to canada for the evening and it was a blast. And think about it this way...$500 is going to go a hell of a lot farther at a gentleman's establishment than it is paying for a stripper for an hour.
The Tomcat Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Have the party minus the strippers. Make sure you have some porn playing somewhere to satisfy the horny. It makes a great conversion piece during the stag with lots of laughs being heard. Tell your future wife that out of respect of her you won't have them there (respect for her father/grandfather blah blah blah) but you and a couple friends are owed a trip to Canada.
EZC-Boston Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Went to one of the "establishments" north of the border after my buddy's bachelor party. The "entertainer" came over and said hello, I said "This is my friend he's getting married." Expecting her to offer a dance, she looked down at me and said "Wow congratulations, would you like to buy him a BJ?"
