Ramius Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 The Bills hold most of the leverage here, with 3 years remaining on his deal -- that said, they should give Peters a bump. After overpaying for Dockery, he's not even the highest paid player on the line and he has a legitimate reason to be pissed. Perhaps this will teach Overdorf a lesson -- when you overpay mediocre players like Kelsay and Dockery, the players who actually DO deserve the coin (Schobel & Peters) will ask for more. Dockery isnt overpaid, and is hardly medicore.
Chilly Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 Dockery isnt overpaid, and is hardly medicore. no but u are ZING
Ramius Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 no but u are ZING ZOMG! All your Bills are suxors! [/dawgg and obie-wan]
obie_wan Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 Dockery isnt overpaid, and is hardly medicore. YES Dockery is overpaid for his performance last year. He did not sustain his blocks and they were not able to consistently run the ball to the left. Part of that is not his fault, since they paid him to perform like the top guard in the league which he is not. But that's what happens when you are forced to overpay free agents

But that's what happens when you are forced to overpay free agents Still waiting for you to tell me which teams have good replacements for their LTs. Obviously you do a whole lot of analysis (like Dockery doesn't sustain his blocks and the BILLS weren't consistantly able to run the ball to the left). So how come you can't answer such a simple question?

Dockery was well worth the money we paid for him, and is a hell of a guard. Him and Peters locked down the left side of the line, and both will be mainstays for the forseeable future. He's got plenty of talent. Also, what teams in the NFL have quality backups at LT that can step in and not miss a beat?
Bleed Bills Blue Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 I think I may have a cheap solution here: Just put Peters back on the right side... ...and teach Trent to throw left-handed.
Dawgg Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 Dockery isnt overpaid, and is hardly medicore. Dockery was paid like a top-5 NFL guard when he hardly qualifies. Steinbach signed with the Browns for virtually the same coin and he's significantly better. In any case, hopefully Dockery can improve on what was a very inconsistent season.

Can we agree that Peters should get paid?
Ramius Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 Absolutely! of course you agree. when we pay him, it gives you one more player to B word about being "overpaid"
