Just Jack Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 There's no gas and go at the Green Grand Prix Sunday, May 18, 2008 By John Kekis The Associated Press Watkins Glen When the green flag waved to start the Green Grand Prix of Watkins Glen, Robert Beam was out to smoke the field. Literally. His 1988 Isuzu Trooper was powered by wood chips in the only road rally for alternate-fuel vehicles and hybrids in the United States, sponsored by the Sports Car Club of America.
Nanker Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 CO engine adaptations have been around a long time. You needed to have a pickup truck vehicle to burn the fuel though.
ExiledInIllinois Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 How in the world can wood be considered "green"... Trains ran on coal also at one time!
ExiledInIllinois Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 What about natural gas? There is so much surplus in the world that the third world countries just burn off their surplus... And the theif can't siphon it either!
DC Tom Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 How in the world can wood be considered "green"... Trains ran on coal also at one time! Same way ethanol is: it's "renewable". Never mind that it's also environmentally unfriendly.
Nanker Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Also, the environmentalist will hate it. It produces CO2 not H2O, sunbeams and rainbows.
