Typical TBD Guy
Here's a website to guide you: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/polit...ctoral-college/ My prediction has McCain beating Obama 274-264. I essentially took the 2004 election results and then had New Hampshire, Colorado, and Iowa switching sides. What's yours?
Chilly
Couple sites around the web that make predictions: http://www.electionprojection.com/ http://www.electoral-vote.com/ The site the Washington Post stole the idea from: http://www.270towin.com/ Right now, changes I see from 2004: NH - McCain IN - Obama IA - Obama Which would put McCain 272, Obama 266 - an incredibly close race. Of course, this will change many, many times before the actual election happens
Typical TBD Guy
Thanks, BlueFire. The first link is pretty interesting. A lot can/will change between now and November, but as of this moment it looks like the Dems are rallying behind the wrong candidate .
/dev/null
I came out with McCain winning 276-262 CA, OR, WA, HI, WI, OH, IL, MI and the north east (everything above Maryland) going for Obama Rest of the country for McCain
DC Tom
I see Hillary wining, because it's the will of the people.

Obama has had his problems winning in the rust belt.

colin
fla, oh, mi mccain gets these he walks away with it. he can miss mi and still win. i've put my money on mccain. don't think he'll be a very good president, but i'll take the money ever time. PastaJoe
If it's Obama, McCain wins 293-245. If it's Clinton, Clinton wins 292-246. The difference is winning the key swing states like Ohio, Penn., and Michigan.

drnykterstein
I had Obama at 538, and McCain at 0. I think that was as accurate as you can get.
\GoBillsInDallas/
I just don't see McCain beating either of the Dem candidates. 1. People will not vote for a minority. 2. People will not vote for a woman. 3. Hillary supporters hate Obama so much that they will not vote at all. 4. Obama supporters hate Hillary so much that they will not vote at all. ExiledInIllinois
I had Obama at 538, and McCain at 0. I think that was as accurate as you can get. I had McCain at -46... You know the "FlightSuit" "Mission Accomplished" "I gave up golf to honor our dead soldiers" backlash tie-in to him... And now by his own account: "we can win in Iraq in 4 years" (actually that may put him in the postive). You can't underestimate that effect! PTS
It's going to be a rout for McCain if Obama is the Dem to be. If it's Hilary, the race will be tighter. I think McCain will win PA, MI, WI, MN and OR against Obama. All states that GWB barely losed to Kerry. Obama doesn't stand a chance in the deep south. Outside of California and DC, he won't win anything south of Illinois.
Alaska Darin
I just don't see McCain beating either of the Dem candidates. Gee, that doesn't sound at all familiar. 2000? 2004? The best thing that could possibly happen for the Democrats is someone like Barr getting some coin to put together a campaign. That might syphon enough votes... KD in CA
Yes they have, but not by Clinton. Not by Obama either. And not by anyone else who was not in charge of FL Dem party's decision to move the primary date against the established rules. Gee, that doesn't sound at all familiar. 2000? 2004? Memories.... Hillary supporters hate Obama so much that they will not vote at all. 4. Obama supporters hate Hillary so much that they will not vote at all. People want the war to end. People want a stronger economy. Both Hillary and Obama have got to be better than the guy who stated he didn't know much. #3 - not buying it. People will see the alternative. McCain or vote for a democrat you may not like completely. #4 - same as #3. I am one of those people. I can not stand Hillary. But she would be better than McCain.
