Fingon
I'm sorry this project will have to be shut down. This will negatively effect _____ and is not worth the possibility of economic growth. $20 says that happens... it has with so many projects in Buffalo (like the bridge that might kill birds)
bdelma
I think they have a vision, however who they hell will invest there. There isn't enough people there who want to live right there in my opinion.
Ramius
Great plan and these guys have a track record of getting things done!....Try the video on the bottom as well.....This has great potential and I for one am looking forward to the day it is built! Slowly but surely, business and development has been picking up in Buffalo....Git er done! One question is who exactly is going to buy those residences and stay in the hotels? Buffalo has exactly zilch for big business with high-paying professional jobs. Until those types of jobs are brought into the area, then theres no reason to expect a few pricey condos on the water are going to trigger an economic boom. Also, with regards to the hotel, whop is going to stay there? Buffalo isnt exactly a hotbed for professional conferences and the likes of other national and international programs that are going to provide a boost for the economy. The hotel would be great if they could actually book it most of the year.

Lurker
Buffalo isnt exactly a hotbed for professional conferences and the likes of other national and international programs that are going to provide a boost for the economy. The hotel would be great if they could actually book it most of the year. Although March wasn't that great, given the year-ago totals were inflated by the NCAA regional visitors, the Buffalo area still tops the national average hotel occupancy rate. The big-3 downtown hotels regularly fill up, so if they do a good job with the waterfront location they could do well, seeing that demand is up, especially with Canadians. You out-of-town transplants could always come home for a visit and book a few rooms as well....
EndZoneCrew
You out-of-town transplants could always come home for a visit and book a few rooms as well.... Nah....they would rather B word and moan than do something like that......it's funny how they all know every detail about who has money and who can and cannot afford these condos. Truth be told, many people are leaving the suburbs to move back to these locations on the lake. These companies don't build unless they have a demand. Time will tell but you assclowns who have nothing better to do but B word are nothing but pieces of work!
EndZoneCrew
You guys shouldnt say that. Careful EndZoneCrew is going to get all upset with all this negitive talk about Buffalo. Gordio
I will say this once again, if you guys have so little respect for this region why do you root for a football team that represents WNY? As for Buffalo, they are doing some nice things here whether anybody wants to believe it or not. They are developing the inner harbor, they have built beutifull condos in the small boat harbor, & they are building more. I just talked to the foreman on the construction site & he said the condo complex they are building right now is sold out(has not been finished yet) & that they are going to start another one next year. They are scheduled to blow up the aud I believe in October & as I look out my office window, they are building the new casino as we speak. They had a picture of what it is going to look like with the Bass Pro, Casino & the rebuilt inner harbor when it is finsihed(I believe in 2011 or 2012) & it looks very nice. Hopefully, this will spur some more restaurants & sports bars also. Things are definately looking up though imo.

It's the team we grew up rooting for. 2. There's a pretty good chance the team will follow our lead and move out of Buffalo too.

Obviously there are many high paying professional jobs in the Buffalo area, and I would consider employers like M&T, HSBC and Delaware North big business. We just don't have as many as some other areas and certainly not as many as we would like to have. That's what some of us are trying to correct in whatever way we can. Like others in this thread, I have pride in where I live and your incessant commentary on something you know nothing about is tiresome. There is tangible progress on the waterfront in both the inner and outer harbor areas, and it is not just promises, but actual construction taking place. Now flame away. Yeah, but I'm probably closer to landing Mandy Moore than Buffalo is to revitilizing its economy. Nice work on that signature span bridge too. Now we can't build anything tall because of birds? BIRDS! Are other cities in other states prevented from building anything because of birds?? Maybe the City of Buffalo should chop down the taller trees in the area to make sure the birds can't accidentally crash into those too.

Whats funny is, that some of these guys take this ribbing so personal. I for one would love to see the economy turn around in Buffalo. I was there when it took a sh-- back in the mid/late 70's. I'm still waiting. Then again, I like to see guys like End Zone Crew cruising around here with that big target on his head that says " Give me shiit, I cant take it"
