kegtapr Posted May 11, 2008 Author Posted May 11, 2008 Sportsmanship defined? It was the 9th inning and they were down by 4 runs. And? Teams never come back from 4 down in the 9th?
stevestojan Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 And? Teams never come back from 4 down in the 9th? Of course they do. 1% of the time, if that. All I'm saying is this guy didn't give up a playoff game that was tied. It was nice, but I don't know that it qualifies for Sportsmanship of the year award..
Steely Dan Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 And? Teams never come back from 4 down in the 9th? Continuing the game would have been classless after a coach is taken away in an ambulance with what might have been a life threatening injury. The writing was pretty much on the wall and I think they did the right thing.
