buffaloboyinATL Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 I was thinking; we have "wide right" "music city miracle" "no goal", a bunch of negative sports catch phrases. Other franchises have "the drive" "immaculate reception" etc. a bunch of positive sports phrases. Are there any tag lines in Buffalo sports that are positive events? I can't think of one. Anyone have one?

buffaloboyinATL Posted May 8, 2008 Author Posted May 8, 2008 "Its Fandamonium" " these guys are good, scary good" And a whole bunch of other RJ quotes Those are good quotes but not quite descriptors of events like "Miracle on ice", "the shot" "the catch" "the shot heard round the world" etc...
buffaloboyinATL Posted May 8, 2008 Author Posted May 8, 2008 Uhhhh... "the comeback" Good call! Thank you. I forgot about that one.
Bullpen Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 Good call! Thank you. I forgot about that one. Glad to help...
Chandler#81 Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 "Nobody circles the wagons, like the Buffalo Bills!" Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuce!
PastaJoe Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 "May day, May day, May day" "Miami has the oranges, but Buffalo has The Juice"
Lori Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 Those are good quotes but not quite descriptors of events like "Miracle on ice", "the shot" "the catch" "the shot heard round the world" etc... Shot heard around the world? I thought that was Mike Stratton on Keith Lincoln.
ieatcrayonz Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 Those are good quotes but not quite descriptors of events like "Miracle on ice", "the shot" "the catch" "the shot heard round the world" etc... 51-3
Chandler#81 Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 Shot heard around the world? I thought that was Mike Stratton on Keith Lincoln. Old timers like me know that, but it's actually even older -Bobby Thompson's WS homer in '56, IIRC
Lori Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 Old timers like me know that, but it's actually even older -Bobby Thompson's WS homer in '56, IIRC Thought that was Bobby Thomson to win the NL pennant in '51? Maybe Stratton's was the Hit heard 'round the world...
johnnychemo Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 I think it was the "tackle heard 'round the world."
EndZoneCrew Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 Maybe Stratton's was the Hit heard 'round the world... Huh...did you say hit?
Chandler#81 Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 Thought that was Bobby Thomson to win the NL pennant in '51?Maybe Stratton's was the Hit heard 'round the world... As usual, you're right. As for Stratton, on a calm summer night, you can still hear the echo off Best Street.
