Astrobot
Nick Hill (Southern Illinois QB) was on the phone with Buffalo quarterbacks coach Alex Van Pelt when the Bills were on the clock at No. 251, the second-to-last pick of the draft. If Buffalo went with offense, Hill was their man. But ....Hill said no thanks to their overtures. His No. 1 goal was to join the Bears, and the Southern Illinois passer agreed to terms on a free-agent deal. The Bears were the ideal fit for the left-hander because they are the only team with only two quarterbacks on their roster, Rex Grossman and Kyle Orton. "It was really a no-brainer," Hill said. "Your goal is always to get drafted, but I just want to get a shot. I feel really good about the Bears. They were No. 1 on my list going into this." Hill also turned down overtures from Indianapolis, Houston and Washington. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...l042708.article
clownments22
Sounds like a D-bag. Just kidding. I'd take the odds with the Bears too with those two chumps ahead of you.

True, but I don't think you should be calling the shots during the draft. Look what happened to Eli Manning
ExiledInIllinois
@ 251 he does this and @ number 1 Pat Kane can't call the shots and be a Sabre!
John from Riverside
QB is one position I really dont want us to draft in the 7th round......they dont play special teams I really have no problem with going with TE/JP this year and bringing in a vet or higher draft pick next year as the number 2. This years draft class sucks.......
Tim Anderson's Lunch Pail
QB is one position I really dont want us to draft in the 7th round......they dont play special teams That's a good point. Really, what's the difference between a sixth or seventh round QB as opposed to a UDFA? Whether they were drafted or signed, it's still a shot in the dark at that point. Eventually ending up on the Giants and making the SB a year after his brother does? Unlike all the success that SD has had!
SuperKillerRobots
What? Eventually ending up on the Giants and making the SB a year after his brother does? Unlike all the success that SD has had! Not to mention SD only got good after that trade.
silvermike
Believe it or not, the Eli Manning trade worked out for both teams. Shocking, I know.
ans4e64
He sounds smart, I think most of us would agree that was probably the best move for him. That must be hard passing up the opportunity to actually be drafted, though.
