IDBillzFan
If you are motivated by music while doing cardio, I'd be open to hear any suggestions. I'm running three miles now on a treadmill and prefer some good upbeat music to help keep pace. I generally vary my running pace at quarter mile increments starting at 5.5, then 6.3, then 6.7, then 7.5, then back down to 5.5 and so on, so I try to time the music with the running pace. Unfortunately, when it comes to music, the new stuff doesn't get it for me, so I'm looking for anything from older, established musicians. Some of what I consider good, fast-paced cardio tunes currently on the Ipod include songs like: - Tom Petty's American Girl - Meatloaf's Bat Out Of Hell (great, fast-paced eight minutes of running) - Bob Seger's Betty Lou's Gettin' Out Tonight - Ricky Lee Jones' Danny's All-Star Joint - John Hiatt's Tennessee Plates and Memphis in the Meantime - Bill Wither's Use Me Up (good for cool down) - Queen's Breakthrough - Lyle Lovett's That's Right, You're Not From Texas - Blue's Brother's B-Movie Box Car Blues and Flip, Flop and Fly - Eagles Get Over It - Beatles' Mean Mr. Mustard/Polythene Pam/She Came In Through the Bathroom Window And hey, I get it. Feel free to laugh at some of the tunes. If I could run to Frank Sinatra, I'd do it. So naturally humorous comments are expected and welcome, but if you have some tunes to share, I'd appreciate that as well.

stuckincincy
Try Mozart's Symphony No. 29 in A Major, Movement I. And His Symphony No. 25 in G Minor Movement I. There is no musical experience that compares with a symphony orchestra thundering in full voice. Or Bette Midler's rendition of Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy. Or Ella Fitzgerald's rendition of Cole Porter's Always True To You in my Fashion. Or BB King's performance of Saturday Night Fish Fry. You will reach new heights of cardio-ness. EDIT: Add Sousa's magnum opus, Stars and Stripes Forever. Edited May 1, 2008 by stuckincincy
