WWVaBeach
Miley Cyru$ I think not. Everyone involved knew exactly what they were doing and what the outcome would be.

Steely Dan
Much ado about nothing. The picture in the article doesn't show the whole picture but it's not bad. In fact CNN showed the complete picture on the air. BFD. The only reason these things get as big as they are is all the stupid "outrage" by people. If she was making out with Roger Clemens in the picture I could understand but it's an artistic picture. BFD get over it. If it had been ignored nobody would have had a "negative" outcome due to this picture.
Bmwolf21
I get a chuckle out of the moms they interview on the news who say they're not sure they are going to let their kids watch Hannah Montana any more, or that it's a huge issue, and I think it's even more hilarious that Disney is attacking Vanity Fair when Miley's parents and reps were on set and saw the pics before anything went to print. If people are pissed at anyone, it should be at Billy Ray and the rest of the adults that were there to supposedly watch out for Miley's best interests - and it doesn't look like they were too concerned at the time, just afterwards when the crap hit the fan. BillsFan Trapped in Pats Land
I haven't seen that one. I thought there was only one photo. Maybe some are worse. It's very sexualized for a father and daughter. Granted, it is Annie Liebowitz and she is known for being edgy, but if you are both the girl's manager and father (and no stranger to show business) you should know better. Bmwolf21
I'm still not sure why the Vanity Fair pic is raising such a ruckus when there is a pic of her pulling her top down to reveal her bra floating around the Interwebs...
DC Tom
The picture of her and father isn't disturbing at all. I think it's a good picture of father and daughter. A little weird, maybe. But frankly, I find it less disturbing than I did "Achy Breaky Heart".
Bullpen
I saw the topic and for a second thought it was about LSI's possible TBD suspension that is being kicked around over on the baseball forum. http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=65740 Miley Cyrus... meh, the fuse has been lit on her own rocket towards Brittany-dom. KRC
I saw the topic and for a second thought it was about LSI's possible TBD suspension that is being kicked around over on the baseball forum. http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=65740 It has been pretty quiet since then. It's been nice. Miley Cyrus... meh, the fuse has been lit on her own rocket towards Brittany-dom. I am guessing that they are just trying to break her out of the squeaky-clean mold that she is currently in, so that she can do more stuff as she gets older. At the same time, nobody accepts responsibility for it, because the money machine from Disney would stop.
UConn James
The picture of her and father isn't disturbing at all. I think it's a good picture of father and daughter. I don't get the ruckus, either. Or is everyone just supposed to pose like "American Gothic"? If there was something patently obscene or creepy, I might get it, but the girl is wearing normal clothes and/or covering herself appropriately. Seen many a young Olympic figure-skater/gymnast wearing less and hugging creepier 50+ men. This is simply the mass media pissing in someone else's cereal b/c Britney, Spitzer et al's bowl is full. If they don't take someone down a notch or two every week, they feel they've failed (believe me, I've seen it from the inside). It's just this girl's turn. Pete
It is a little sick. If some random photographer shot that in his home and put it on the net it would be considered child porn. Why did she do this? She is huge. I don't watch much TV besides PBS, I listen to NPR, and I read- yet I know all about Hannah Montana somehow. Surely she was manipulated into this photo shoot. It does nothing for her career. She is not gonna get much bigger then she already is. Not to menton her fan base. She is a role model to young girls everywhere- what kind of message does this send to them? Shame on you Annie Leibovitz!
apuszczalowski
What I don't get about this is that it was for Vanity Fair. How many of her fans are out reading Vanity Fair, where they could view these photo's? So now instead they get posted all over the internet and news because of the outrage about what kind of image it will send to the children The photo in question, the "nude" shot with the sheet, I think its just a horrible picture, they made here look pretty bad in it. Apparently they did it because of who the photographer is and it was supposed to be artistic. As for the others, i don't see a problem with them. Oh no!, she shows a bit of her green bra, or her midriff! How scandalous! Bra and midriff! Atleast she is wearing underwear, and as for the middriff, if she had a bikinni on, you would see it too! buckeyemike
This is not a story. Miley Cyrus didn't do anything wrong. OK, the nude back pic is a bit creepy, and you can see her ribs, but she didn't do anything wrong. I disagree overall with Pete's views, but I agree as far as this is concerned: I have no kids and stay away from the Disney Channel...why the hell do I know who Miley Cyrus is, anyway? I remember how several people on this board couldn't wait for the Olsen twins to turn 18, so we could see the big Playboy spread. Same with Lindsay Lohan...wait, we might actually see that one before it's all said and done, but really, Lindsay 2008 can't hold a candle to Lindsay 2004. The aforementioned Playboy spreads haven't happened...at least not yet. Miley Cyrus still has three years to go to 18, and I'm sure she doesn't want to be lumped into the has-been crowd at the ripe old age of 22. Thus, her willingness to branch out into something edgier than Hannah Montana. Notice no word from Disney on whether such photos violate any "morals clause" in her contract. Thus, her willingness to branch out into something edgier than Hannah Montana. That's the problem...none of these girls have much to 'branch out' to once they become adults because none of them are really talented at anything. Lindsey Lohen? Her talent was having big hooters. Olsen twins? Their talent was being cute little kids on TV when they were 5. Once the marketing guys have moved on to the next device for pumping parents for $$, these girls are left to branch out to DUIs, coke and sex tapes. Hopefully she has a good financial advisor so the money lasts a while.
