I have a bad feeling this guy isnt going to translate into a legimate NFL WR. I wouldnt mind sitting here today with Devin Thomas and Malcom Kelley on the roster...with the high probabilty of WR busts the skins hedged their bet....

During his first season I think Hardy's presence in the #2 spot translates into big numbers for Evans, Parrish and Reed. At nearly 6'7" he is certainly going to draw attention from opposing defenses and will draw major attention in the red zone. He'll make his catches and is certainly going to grab some scores but his position will mainly be to free up Evans and Parrish/Reed.

It doesn't worry me all that much, he will draw attention off of Evans who managed 1200+ yards with Peerless Price as his #2, Peerless wasn't exactly stellar.

As for Malcolm Kelly, after his bad pro-days I've come to view him more as an underweight Tight End. The guy is just plain slow, hands or no hands a legit NFL receiver needs to be able to break away.

i've been reading this board for several years now, but i've just noticed how many immature fools post on a consistent basis. Every post starts with an opinion (which is what a board is for) and then the poster is immediately attacked and there is just bullsh-t responses. Many of you must be really bored needing to start so much sh-- all the time. Get a hobby or a girlfriend or something.

What if hardy is a bust? do we draft another WR next year? trade for one? count on roscoe, lee and josh this year? mike williams a suppossed 'cant miss' didnt even see the field his 1st year. or the dude for the saints last year.....our offense cant afford that this year if we want to go anywhere.

What if Hardy is freaking amazing??Do we let Evans walk next yr?

actually i was just curious what some think we should do considering Lee is a FA and our WR group isnt the best in the world....its not so far fetched that a 2nd round WR doesnt pan out and we are back at square 1.

even if hardy is awesome and lee leaves via FA next offseason we are still going to have to draft another WR so this topic is moot. If lee leaves and Hardy is a bust we are worse than square one my friend we ended up in !@#$-ville. BUt that's not going to happen IMO lets cross that bridge when we get there shall we :w00t:

The answer is we draft another receiver next year if he does nothing all year. However, I'm 90% sure that he'll make some waves on our team this year.

ummm NO? not like Hardy is going to get a new contract after next season, and who replaces Lee? If Hardy replaces Lee, who repaces Hardy? WTF you don't just let him leave, now if he doesn't want to be here you can't do anything about that.

But then...what would you do if Devin Thomas and Malcom Kelley are busts?

In fact, what happens if every player we drafted is a bust?

In fact, what happens if the entire NFL is a bust?

In fact, what happens if you trip on your way to lunch today, crack your head on the ground, and lose whatever memory you have of the last 8 years?

In fact, what happens if John Lennon isn't really dead? Could he and Yoko still have kids?

Then he will forget that he ever made such a ridiculous post......and will be right there with the rest of us when Hardy outjumps some poor patriot corner for a touchdown

I don't know how much you tube time you guys have spent on Steve Johnson.

Link here

Suffice it to say that he is a very exciting player, and he is big time clutch guy. Three huge games last year, LSU, Louisville, and Tennessee, all ranked teams when the played, LSU #1, Louisville #9, Tennesse(I dunno :w00t: ) and he made the clutch play(s) in all of them. Unreal plays, highlight after highlight, every big game. Reminds me of Drury in that he's always around making a big play when they need it, especially late in the game.

Also, as you watch that notice this: he is way wide open over and over again. That can't be a coincidence since it keeps happening every game. You can talk about schemes and mismatches, other players' drawing attention, zones, etc. But a guy getting 10 yards open over and over, for TDs, definitely has to a lot to do with the player, not just that other stuff.

So, my answer for this thread is: hopefully Steve Johnson's clutch ability translates to the NFL. I think it will, since being clutch is being clutch, you can't teach it, and it seems to follow some players no matter what.

:w00t: Great value for the 7th round. I hope he steps it up in camp and makes the roster

If Hardy is a bust..., ...then what do we do?

Draft Laurel.

Eff that! I'm going down with the ship if those are the choices I'm given.

I'll be hanging in the basement.

The only player I am worried about busting in this draft is Ellis and that's only because of his chronic shoulder problems. I wouldn't have drafted him that early due to that. If he plays for Buffalo and never has a shoulder problem then cool but I doubt that will happen.

No big deal. He's a second round pick, won't make a ton of money, not a huge loss if he turns into a bust. I'd be more worried if I'm the Lions and Calvin Johnson turns into a bust.

But I think people need to temper their expectations with Hardy. Almost all rookie WR's struggle. I'd be happy if all we get from him ithis year is a lot of redzone touches, and maybe 300-400 yards for the season.

Teams must have two great or very good WR's. If Hardy takes pressure off Lee and he has a big year because of it he'll be a Bill for a long time.

Some people don't have one.

That's not funny!
