What do you guys think of our draft? Where do you see these kids this year and down the road. Here's what I think, but I'd like to see an overview of what most of you think.

Leodis McKelvin (CB) - Starting cornerback (hopefully) opposite Terence McGee. There is a lot of talk on these boards bashing this kids' hands (or lack thereof) but I think he is a great corner who has a knack for making big plays. It's too bad that we can't utilize his return skills as well.

James Hardy (WR) - The big body on the other side of the field from Lee Evans. A tall receiver who can shield defenders well and make tough catches in traffic and can always be relied on to nab a jump ball in the endzone.

Chris Ellis (DE) - 3rd down pass-rush specialist. Line him up with Spencer Johnson, Stroud and Schobel and let them go after the QB. Ellis is raw now and has a lot of potential but he's going to have to take some big strides if he has any plans of being an every down player.

Reggie Corner (CB) - I see this kid as a nickel corner...that's it. He may contribute on special teams (he may have to) but he has "good nickel corner" written all over him. Undersized kid with good leaping ability and great hands. Yesterday I convinced myself that he is our version of Aaron Glenn (late in his career.)

Derek Fine (TE) - I don't see where Fine fits into the offense (or IF he fits into the offense.) No one really knows much about this guy other than the fact that he has decent hands and can contribute on special teams. He provides depth but I don't see the need for more depth at Tight End.

Alvin Bowen (LB) - A lot of people are talking about this kids' speed and ability to cover well when called upon. Right now I see him as a Special Teamer. He might crack the lineup in a couple of years if he can prove reliable but I doubt it.

Xavier Omon (RB) - Another head-scratcher if you ask me. He's big (225 lbs) and has been crazily productive at Northwestern Bumfork State. Perhaps they see him as a short yardage back, but more than likely he will simply be a depth/practice squad type of player that could see the field if someone ahead of him gets injured.

Demetrius Bell (OT) - This is purely a "What if" pick. This kid has rare athleticism that MIGHT translate into him becoming a solid tackle. He's a project player who provides depth for the O-Line and is a long-shot to produce in the next few years.

Steve Johnson (WR) & Kennard Cox (CB) - Both of these guys will be pressed into action on Special Teams only. They both provide depth at WR and CB, but they have to prove themselves useful enough on Special Teams if they even want to think of making the roster.

Agree almost exactly with you. I think Omon gets a lot of play in preseason, maybe even supplants Wright, or Wright moves to FB. I don't see him replacing Action Jackson, but I think he'll turn some heads in preseason. At worst, a difficult August cut.

I see McKelvin replacing McGee on KR and/or replacing Parrish on PR. I see McGee attending more to the youngsters on CB and Parrish attending more to trying to keep his #3 spot on WR.

I see Fine as a way of having a 5-way competition for 2nd and 3rd TE. Probably going in, it's:

-----Robert Royal #1 TE (6-4 255 , 7 yrs. exper.)

-----Courtney Anderson #2 TE (6'6", 270, 5 yrs. exper.)

-----Teyo Johnson #2 TE (6-6 260 , 4 yrs.)

-----Tim Massaquoi #2 TE (6-5 255, 3 yrs.)

-----Derek Schouman #2 TE (6-2 223 , 2 yrs)

-----Derek Fine #2 TE (6-3 245 , 0 yrs.)

The Bills brought in some big TE's in FA, bigger than Royal, even. This doesn't bode well for Schouman, who may have to pull a George Wilson transformation to stay around on a "FB not H-Back" team.

I see Fine getting Massaquoi and 1 of the other 3 backups cut and competing for the 2nd TE spot

Massaquoi is a dead man walking.

I have the feeling, unless he has an amazing training camp, that they will work McKelvin in slowly. He'll take over KR and nickle duties. By the 6th or 7th week, he may be starting.

Gracias, Mr. E. Ball!

I want to thank everyone who checked with DraftTek along the way. DraftTek's per-day visits were up 800% over last year. It helped me finance a new home Bills jersey--just haven't decided on the player yet.
