Fingon Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 In like 1 minute he will be on. Sorry for the late notice, i just found out myself. This is a good time to hear his explanations for the draft.

No one called about JP, no concern about him being a distraction. called him a model citizen Says that Derek Fine is a guy who can line up in the slot, has good hands, and is a very good special teamer Bowen is a spectacular athlete and can get after the QB. Says season ticket holders will be above 50,000 this year. Say they are just finishing up their UDFA process. News in less than 24 hours.

eball Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Thanks Fingon. It's good to hear Brandon got in a couple of "we didn't think he'd be there" comments. I wonder how many times that has been said around the league in the past 36 hours? The draft continues to crack me up. Seriously, though, I'm glad to hear about Ellis -- I saw him play a couple of times last year and in the BC/VT primetime game he definitely got after Matt Ryan. Adding him to the DE rotation, particularly on 3rd downs, is an exciting prospect. I don't really worry about "intensity" issues since he'll have a maniac as a DL coach (Kollar).

These could be 2 good special teamers. Considering the Bills lost a great core of ST's in Aiken, Stamer, Hagan, and Wire, special teams definitely factored in the draft...

I made this point as well yesterday afternoon at about the time of the 5th or 6th rounds. ST is another "starting" unit and if you can't draft a player you feel will immediately contribute on O or D but who could be an instant ST upgrade, you pull the trigger -- that's exactly what I think the Bills did.
PromoTheRobot Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 They took a break from Hockey to talk football? "So Russ, any plans to further destroy this franchise and slap your fans in the face?" PTR

Rubes Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Says season ticket holders will be above 50,000 this year. Wow...didn't realize that. That's impressive for us.

Think we might see Evans, Hardy and Fine split out wide some this year(esp. red zone)? From a physical standpoint it sure seems more imposing than Evans, Reed & Roscoe.

He's GOT to take some pressure off the middle of the field. GO BILLS!!!
marauderswr80 Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 When Jacksonville traded up I knew McKelvin would be there, just wasnt sure if Buffalo was going to take him or DRC or trade down.....

What I don't understand is Fine is an H-back type, and Turk is disposing of the H-back. They already have a promising developmental player just like Fine in Derek Schouman.
