eball Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 Does no one place value in bringing in guys who have the ability to make an immediate positive impact on ST? The Bills pride themselves on ST, and when they take players who *could* contribute on O or D but who will definitely improve ST, the picks are roundly thrashed. For all of the so-called "experts" around here, many are missing the point that ST has to be built through the draft as well.
John Adams Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 30th in defense. 31st in offense. 7-9 record. Is ST important?
CJPearl2 Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 30th in defense. 31st in offense. 7-9 record. Is ST important? And what player would you drsft in the 4th to help our offense?
John Adams Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 You don't draft ST players in round 4 Right. This is the round where you find your starters. You join Steely Dan's draft day brain trust.
eball Posted April 27, 2008 Author Posted April 27, 2008 You don't draft ST players in round 4 I beg to differ. You also don't draft "immediate starters on O or D" in round 4. If I'm looking at two guys at a particular position, but one has excelled on ST, I know who I'm going with.
nodnarb Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 You don't draft ST players in round 4 Oh my god...this post takes the cake! I'm laughing, but part of me feels the urge to weep. This is just so stupid, so clueless...it's a one post tragic comedy.
John Adams Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 And what player would you drsft in the 4th to help our offense? Perhaps you missed my point. ST is VERY important. It got the Bills to 7-9 last year despite abysmal O and D. I am happy the Bills are looking to ST in the draft.
eball Posted April 27, 2008 Author Posted April 27, 2008 And what player would you drsft in the 4th to help our offense? You missed his point. The Bills were nearly .500 and in the playoff hunt despite horrid O and D numbers. What's left? ST.
Dan Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 And that's my primary hope. They think we have plenty of quality starters and are just taking BPA, fillers that can make the team on Special Teams.

JPicc2114 Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 Bills got rid of a lot of STeamers so they need to get more .. i think they did a good job
Lurker Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 And what player would you drsft in the 4th to help our offense? O-Line depth that can start in 1-2 years...if one of the starters goes down, our best weapon (Lynch) is gonna struggle given the backups this team can put on the field today.
elegantelliotoffen Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 O-Line depth that can start in 1-2 years...if one of the starters goes down, our best weapon (Lynch) is gonna struggle given the backups this team can put on the field today. "O-LIne Depth" what school did he go to? what position does he play?
Lurker Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 "O-LIne Depth" what school did he go to? what position does he play? ...one in a million, huh?
Fan in Chicago Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 "O-LIne Depth" what school did he go to? what position does he play? Whatever the answers are, he certainly wasn't picked by the Bills
elegantelliotoffen Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 ...one in a million, huh? Perhaps all the 4th round o-lineman have already been picked over and the remaining players are indistinguishable from an UDFA at this point?
