BenchBledsoe Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 Notice I'm asking a question and not including my own opinion. Don't want to get my head ripped off around here . . .
Mike formerly from Florida Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 Notice I'm asking a question and not including my own opinion. Don't want to get my head ripped off around here . . . Tell me about it. I like picks 2 and 3 because I've heard of them.
Brandon Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 Happy with the draft alone? Yes. Happy with the free agency period alone? Yes Happy with the two together? Not so much.
You Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 Notice I'm asking a question and not including my own opinion. Don't want to get my head ripped off around here . . . should have taken any other guy at 1. should have taken any other guy at 2. should have taken any other guy at 3. should have taken any other guy at 4. IT'S AS IF THE BILLS FRONT OFFICE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE ANY ONLINE MOCKS UP ON THEIR COMPUTERS IN THE DRAFT ROOM!!!!!!!!
deep2evans Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 Love it. Our first 3 picks will play a lot next year. Hardy and McKelvin may both compete for the O and D ROY awards. The DE sounds like a pure pass rusher which is what we need. The other guys sound like effective role/depth players.
DanInSouthBuffalo Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 This is like an old-time Marv draft. Pure vanilla, safe as milk. Nothing wrong with that as that is where your role players come from.
JPicc2114 Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 taken another guy at #2? guess you dont like 6''6 recievers
Oneonta Buffalo Fan Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 Happy with the draft alone? Yes.Happy with the free agency period alone? Yes Happy with the two together? Not so much. Yes Yes and YES! All three should be yes.
ajzepp Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 I get the sense that the Bills got exactly what they wanted - or very close to it - out of FA and the draft this year.
drnykterstein Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 Happy with the draft alone? Yes.Happy with the free agency period alone? Yes Happy with the two together? Not so much. ????

Oneonta Buffalo Fan Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 Well i love the Chris Ellis PIck we need depth at LB tho. He can play LB. He played LB part time.
BenchBledsoe Posted April 27, 2008 Author Posted April 27, 2008 Happy with the draft alone? Yes.Happy with the free agency period alone? Yes Happy with the two together? Not so much. How's that possible?
CherryCoke Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 should have taken any other guy at 1. should have taken any other guy at 2. should have taken any other guy at 3. should have taken any other guy at 4. Christ. enough with your horrible attempts at sarcasm. we get it every thread i read, you are there with these annoying posts trying to be clever.
Dr. Trooth Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 I'm defimitely not thrilled. But, you can't look at this one dimensionally. Not only do we not know specifically what the Bills are looking at and why, but probably less than 1/10th of one percent of us look at the Bills team in totality. Special teams in particular.... most tend to look ST as 4 positions... K, P, PR, KR. The biggest problem I have is they really haven't addressed DT. I thought for sure they'd bring in Stroud's heir apparent, cuz he's on a razor thin line. If he's injured or suspended, it changes the whole dynamic of the defense. He's head and shoulders above any DT on our roster, if healthy...and unless He proves differently, McCargo is a distant 2nd.
Brandon Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 ???? Taken alone, they've added good players in both the draft and free agency. Put them together, though, and it paints a picture of a team that didn't do enough offensively to be competitive, IMO.

JM57 Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 I was excited last night. I was still excited after the Ellis pick. After round 4...not so much. They picked guys who likely will contribute on special teams, and were projected to be available ALL DAY
Brandon Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 How's that possible? The sum of the two phases of the offseason is less than the value of the individual parts, IMO. They got a lot of good players and prospects, they just concentrated all of it on one side of the ball. The other is probably still going to borderline suck.
