RAVENS TRYING TO GET TO NO. 2

Posted by Mike Florio on April 26, 2008, 1:41 p.m.

You know those reports about what will happen at No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4? Throw them out the window.

Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the Ravens are actively trying to swing a trade to get to the No. 2 spot, which would put them in front of the Falcons, and allow them to pick Ryan.

And this could prompt the Falcons the try to trade up to No. 2 as well, to prevent the Ravens from doing the deal.

The Rams might prefer the latter option, since it would allow them to still get Chris Long, but at a lower salary slot and with an extra pick or two therafter in two.

As a result, we wonder whether the Rams are the ones pushing the trade talk with Baltimore, in the hopes that they’ll scare the Falcons into moving up.

What I'm getting from all of these reports is that people still don't really know jack, except for the fact that Jake Long is the #1 pick and signed by Miami. This would be an understandable move for the Ravens though, more understandable than moving back and taking Henne.
