LaDairis Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 KFFL has a huge list of TEs the Bills are reportedly "considering." One name not on that list is Cal's Craig Stevens, who LaDairis thinks is the real target. Stevens is healthy, smart, and high character, not to mention the best blocking TE in the Draft and an adequate receiver with excellent speed.
lets_go_bills Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 The short list would be Fred Davis, Dustin Keller, Martellus Bennett, Martin Rucker, Brad Cottam, and John Carlson.
Brandon Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 I'd add Jermichael Finley to the list. I think he's the best receiving TE in this draft class, though his blocking is going to need serious work. The Bills have also spoken to Maryland TE Joey Haynos, who I know absolutely nothing about, except that he's about 6'8" tall.

We have a bunch of good blockers/average receivers. We need the opposite. I say the TE depends on the round. Round 2: Fred Davis or Dustin Keller Round 3: Martellus Bennett or John Carlson Round 4: Carlson, Rucker, Cottam

Except for Carlson, I think he will go in round two or three actually.

John from Riverside Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 M. Bennett, Fred Davis, or John Carlson While we might have a blocking TE.....if we are going to draft one that high he needs to be a complete player.....so that we dont tip off defenses what we are going to do by switching from receiving TE to blocking TE.
Pete Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 it will be carlson That is what I am thinking. Carlson is an academic all-American and high character- plus we can probably draft him in the third round.
LaDairis Posted April 25, 2008 Author Posted April 25, 2008 The short list would be Fred Davis, Dustin Keller, Martellus Bennett, Martin Rucker, Brad Cottam, and John Carlson. ... because you read that on KFFL, and hence that became "your" "opinion."
JStranger76 Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 Martellus Bennett, and I have NO problem taking him in the 2nd round. IMO he'll be the best all-around TE in this class.
Pete Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 Martellus Bennett, and I have NO problem taking him in the 2nd round. IMO he'll be the best all-around TE in this class. He is top of my TE board too. I just have a feeling the Bills are gonna go Carlson
LaDairis Posted April 25, 2008 Author Posted April 25, 2008 Why are you talking about yourself in the 2nd person... 3rd person, smartrear...
Lt. Dan's Revenge Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 I'm hoping Bennett or Keller, I'm guessing Carlson or Kellen Davis.
Pete Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 3rd person, smartrear... why are you referring to yourself in the third person? Megaolomania? And why are you attacking John from Hemet? Wanna get in a spearing contest?
LaDairis Posted April 25, 2008 Author Posted April 25, 2008 That is what I am thinking. Carlson is an academic all-American and high character- plus we can probably draft him in the third round. He and Stevens are the two who fit that description. Carlson also has less "climate change" risk. Players from schools with no snow - remember Roscoe Parrish's first response to snow? The only snow Roscoe had ever seen before was spilling out of a plastic bag.
JM57 Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 I very much agree with those positionings by round for the TEs. Except for Carlson, I think he will go in round two or three actually. Well I had to account for the fact that some players mysteriously fall.
Tim Anderson's Lunch Pail Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 Martellus Bennett, and I have NO problem taking him in the 2nd round. IMO he'll be the best all-around TE in this class. I agree. I love what Bennett brings to the table.
billsevans Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 I would be filled with joy if the Bills take either Davis or Keller. I have been high on Keller since watching him play in person last year, and I wasn't that high on Davis until some buddies showed me some highlights. Both guys can play.
Grouse89 Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 why are you referring to yourself in the third person? Megaolomania? And why are you attacking John from Hemet? Wanna get in a spearing contest? I was just going to ask WTF was up with the third person reference?
