The draft is like my Birthday and Christmas rolled into one one!

<_<

I guess my point was more not on the fellas who want to watch the draft all day, have plenty of <_< s with the boys, and just love it like you, as I really do get that. Kinda like my boys in Richmond not liking the hockey playoffs, but know I am gunna watch as much as possible.

But more on people trying to gauge value by pick etc. I guess that is what gets to me, how the hell can anyone know who we should pick at 45(or wherever we are in rd 2) or say good or bad pick etc, including the goof balls on TV. Thats why I will be like EBall and really dig in more depth once a guy is picked, but I have no clue, based on MY knowledge, how these guys will pan out. And I think if you did the truth serum to most of the guys and on this board talking bout value, etc, I am guessing less than 10% have seen more than 6 games total on most of the guys. Sure they have their college they follow, so like for me I have an opinion on MD players, and guys who light up the Terps, but I only see those guys agaisn't the Terps for the most part. Pretty small sample size as opposed to the scouts who watch every friggen game film on that guy.

I don't care at all about the draft

Theres too much worry from people that have absolutly no input, training, or decision into what teams pick. its funny reading all the Mock Drafts, and the arguements over who the team will pick, and how they know exactly what the team will do and why its the only option because this is the way they see it.

I think my favorite part of draft day is coming here right after the Bills pick and watch the board implode and then the resulting destruction and carnage because the Bills didn't draft their guy (so they will be the worst team, and are inept and clueless), or that the guy they took is such a reach and they could have easily traded back with Team 'X' and still got their guy and some extra picks (or if the guy the Bills coveted and evaluated as their guy was taken after they traded back its fine cause they could have always taken another guy)

When it's over, I generally feel disorientated, sore from being stationary for two days, lethargic, and either extremely excited or depressed about who the Bills had chosen.

Wow, you described that feeling perfectly! I couldn't have said it better

I remember the last time I had to work on the first day of the draft, it was April 2003. I worked in a hospital in Atlanta on the day shift (12 hr), and we had a few unoccupied (with patients) rooms on the floor. There are pretty strict rules on what you can do in an empty room as far as sitting on chairs, sitting on the bed, etc., cause once the housekeeping folks clean it, you better stay clear until the patient gets there. Well, I found an empty room back down in the corner of the hall - one with a door that had non-squeaky hinges - that had a good tv...I set it to ESPN, turned the volume to just the right position where I could hear the commentary yet still here the activity outside the door, and I would stand just inside the room to watch the proceedings.

About an hour into things, I had just finished my rounds and was heading back to the room to see what all I'd missed. I opened the door, started walking in, and realized that someone else was already in the room! I looked at him, he looked at me, both of us with surprised looks on our faces. As it turned out, it was the maintenance guy who had pretty much the same plan I did, lol. I walked in, introduced myself, we disclosed team affiliations to one another, and then both of us just stood there transfixed by Chris Berman and Mel Kiper. He was a diehard Cowboys fan, but he was very respectful of the Bills (particularly the SB losses), so we actually ended up having a very good discussion.

If someone would have had a camera in that room, they'd have seen two grown men sneaking into and out of it about every ten minutes or so for the next five or six hours...we got to see our teams' first two picks, and neither of us ever got caught

I love the draft....

What I cant stand is the initial reaction of getting someone we didn't want.......then if you come back in about 30 minutes the rush of people calming down and saying "Well.....I guess it was a good pick"

Only to have it happen 7 damn times.....

Ahhh....forget it...I love everything about the draft.
