Bill from NYC Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Sounds par for the course. After all, this is a good year for linemen.

inkman Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 has us taking McKelvin in the 1st and Jordy Nelson in the 2nd. Thoughts? I wouldn't be disappointed but then again if you just insert any two names of players I've heard of, I would probably say the same thing.
BeastMode54 Posted April 16, 2008 Author Posted April 16, 2008 I wouldn't be disappointed but then again if you just insert any two names of players I've heard of, I would probably say the same thing. Ha, yea I agree. I think I've posted numerous conflicting messages on who I think we should draft. Can it just be April 26th already?
Sen. John Blutarsky Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 So for the record, who has Kiper had us picking since Christmas so when he says "I've had Buffalo picking _____ since ________." We know what version of his reality he's referring to. You have to admire his strategy though. Carpet bomb with ratings and rankigns and a big board and mock drafts so no matter what happens he can point to some point in the past and say he nailed it.
Lurker Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Thoughts? If Mel makes enough of these mocks, he actually stands a chance of one of them being somewhat accurate...blind squirrel 101.
Pete Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 I am a big Mel Kiper fan. Why hate? The guy does what he loves, and what many of us would love to do. Don't you think Astrobot would love to have Mel's job? Only in America. I do not think Mel makes that much money. He used to answer the phone for his orders- and he was always happy to discuss your team. He is a down to earth dude. And everyone I ever knew that ran into Mel said he was very personable and happy to discuss football. Cheers Mel Kiper! BTW- I got off course on the subject matter. Imagine that- hate got a thread off course on this board. I like McKelvin and read that the Bills liked him too. Jordy Nelson is shooting up draft boards. I have not seen him play much and can't offer too much opinon. He had a great combine though

Trader Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 has us taking McKelvin in the 1st and Jordy Nelson in the 2nd. Thoughts? That fill two of our needs with starters next year. I would be behind it 100% Mckelvin, Harvey, DRC, OR trade down with number one. Nelson will go in second round. He is the only receiver in the draft without a major flaw.
1billsfan Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Nelson will go in second round. He is the only receiver in the draft without a major flaw. If you call having no speed or athletic moves as being without a major flaw. Nelson will probably be a major reach by some team in the second round, I just hope it's not the Bills.

The problem is he's wrong most of the time and he gets ticked off when teams don't pick the player he thinks they should pick. Good for him that he's doing what he loves, but I've never liked his arrogant attitude or the way he puts himself on a pedestal. His ESPN cohorts give him too much credit and constantly feed his ego.
stewy23 Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 I don't know if McKelvin is going to be there at #11. A lot of people are saying that DRC is dropping out of the top 15 and that McKelvin and Talib are on their way up. I like the idea of taking the best player available (Branden Albert, McKelvin, Keith Rivers, Derrick Harvey) in the 1st and drafting a WR in the second. Hopefully a guy like Hardy is still available when we pick in the 2nd round.
