BillsPride12 Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 I've never been, but I'm going to check it out for the first time in a couple hours. Obviously I've heard good things and I'm also excited to check out some Buffalo sports memorbilia, just wondering if you guys wanted to share any experiences there or have any meal recomendations
DrDawkinstein Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 my entire family would go oftern while i was growing up in the 80s. one of my favorite restaurants. for the food and for sentimental reasons. ill never forget how illio would always come out and talk to each table. his hands were SO HUGE especially to a 7 year old.
buckeyemike Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Yes. Terrific food. So good I wrote the restaurant a letter complementing them. I love great Italian food...it's better than anything else.
Philly McButterpants Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 DiPaolo's is one of my favorite places in WNY. If you like pasta dishes, get the fettucine with whatever sauce. They list the home-made pastas on the menu and the fettucine is my favorite, especially with the mushroom sauce and 2 meatballs . . . Yum!
SABURZFAN Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 that place is awesome. i haven't been there in years but we used to stop there to eat when the wrestling matches were at The Aud.
Buffaloed in Pa Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 I heard that it`s pretty good. But it isn`t as good as it was under the old ownership. This was told to me by my Mamma who still lives in Blasdell.

BillsPride12 Posted April 13, 2008 Author Posted April 13, 2008 Just got home, it was very good I had a shrimp/scallop scampi for my meal, but I think my favorite part was a special appetizer they had for today which was a breaded shrimp covered in Buffalo sauce with blue cheese
MarkyMannn Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 does the family (son, Dennis) not own it anymore? Yes, he does own it. I always go for the fettucine alfredo. Wife goes lobster
Live&DieBillsFootball Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Illio's is good, but the best Italian restaurant in Buffalo is Chef's.
