Captain Hindsight Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 apparently it was announced on Billsdaily that he ran a 4.75...cya Kelly 4.75? wow Edit.... just checked and i don't see it where did you get that?
Lt. Dan's Revenge Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 apparently it was announced on Billsdaily that he ran a 4.75...cya Kelly What is this guy turning into Maurice Clarett before our very eyes?!?!?
Brandon Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 The same rumor is circulating on the NFL Draft Countdown forums. 4.75 and 4.77, with a 32" vertical and a 9'10" broadjump. If its true, he's done and is in 3rd-4th round territory now.
Homer Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 I tried to edit that, but it was !@#$ that posted the 4.75
Homer Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Early reports have Oklahoma WR Malcolm Kelly running a 4.75 today in his pro day. Kelly had a quad tear and was unable to workout for pro scouts since the end of the college season.
FluffHead Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 it was reported on the insider website that we all shall not speak of or else it will get edited by our mods.
Snorom Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Yeah that is real slow... but I would galdly pick him up in rd 3... His size and ability to shield defenders is what will allow him to be successful in the NFL. He has a great pair of hands. So if we pick up a Devin Thomas in rd 1 and somehow Kelly falls to us in rd 3 we will have a nice core of WR's IMO. If Evans leavs next year we will still be in decent shape WR wise...
Peter Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 I view this as good news. We have no business picking him at 11 anyway. The farther he drops, the better. Pick him up later if the value is there.

In any event, I think it more or less forces the Bills hand at 11, provided they have 1st round grades on Sweed and/or Thomas. The field of WRs in the first 2-3 rounds has been thinned considerably with the problems of Bowman, Manningham and possibly Hardy, and now Kelly turning in a horrid 40. The odds are starting to stack considerably against finding a good prospect to fill that need for a big, physical #2 WR outside of R1.
Peter Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 NFL.Com linky on Kelly Pro Day with Results WR Malcolm Kelly (6-3 7/8, 227): Ran the 40 in 4.75 and 4.68, had a 32-inch vertical jump, 9-foot, 9-inch long jump, 4.24 short shuttle, 7.00 cone drill, and ran position drills. Kelly looked very good.
BeastMode54 Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 you think the Bengals will still bring him back to their complex after this?
stewy23 Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Wow. I guess that answers the question of whether or not he's worth the 11th pick. I'm shocked. I thought he would do better than that. I still think he gets nabbed in the 2nd round, but that puts him well behind DeSean Jackson, Devin Thomas & Limas Sweed now.
JPicc2114 Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 my guess is Limas Sweed now.. if anyone. a trade down to around pick 20 and getting Sweed would be a pretty good move.
Blue Chipper Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Kelly wont be there in the 2nd- I honestly think the skins will take him at 20 or the titans at 24. After that 40 time he is not worth taking before that but I just cant see him slipping to round 2 either. I think that moves Jackson from Cal to the top receiver on the board. He is only 5'9 but has the return skills that teams are looking for. We already have that in Rosco and McGee. I think the Bills look to another position in rd 1.
dave mcbride Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 NFL.Com linky on Kelly Pro Day with Results Wow, that's slow. Even for a tight end, that's pretty slow.
