BillsWatch Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/The+W...+It/default.htm Buffalo March 26, 2008 Trade for Losman not expected to be completed before draft So far, there's a serious lack of suitors that have come knocking on the Bills' door inquiring about acquiring disgruntled QB J.P. Losman. Losman has asked for a trade following his demotion behind starter Trent Edwards, a request that the Bills would be happy to oblige should a reasonable offer come their way. Not surprisingly, Losman has been a no-show at "voluntary" workouts in Orchard Park, and it's unlikely he'll show up considering that he can't be fined for not attending the sessions. That being said, the Bills continue to harbor the belief that they'll work out an deal for the quarterback. We hear that it's highly unlikely there will be any action until after the draft. Whichever teams come out of the late April selection meeting without a quality passer will go a long way in determining who will have interest in the former first-round pick. Looks like PFW is misinformed on this. Usually they are more reliable about this or maybe this was written before he showed up for voluntary workouts.

Anyone else ever been close to a story that's been in the news and realize how little journalists usually get RIGHT? Downright scary at times.....
SABURZFAN Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 a serious lack of suitors that have come knocking on the Bills door........ nuff said.

So, others besides some of us Bills fans thinks JP is less than adequate. Naah.....like the article says.....they'll be lining up in droves right after the draft. Right? RIGHT?

Naah.....like the article says.....they'll be lining up in droves right after the draft. Right? RIGHT? for all you know the Bills were asking a high price (maybe a 2nd or 3rd rounder). partly to be able to say "we TRIED to trade you" and partly to make sure our best back-up option stays around.
Lori Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Their normal correspondent was on vacation this week, so I'm not exactly sure who they were hearing it from.
Steely Dan Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 I think a trade may be made on draft day with either Atlanta or Baltimore.
Stl Bills Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 I hate to say this about PFW b/c I do enjoy the weekly publication but some of the guys who write this stuff tend to make a lot of statements based on talking to a single source..........................who may or may not have any inside info on the Bills. My roomate in college (and good friend) is now their distribution mangaer and his dad and uncle own and edit PFW. I've talked football with a lot of the PFW guys on many occasions but (especially Bills and Bears football because they are from Chicago)............a lot of the guys at PFW are about as out of touch with Bills football as is the casual NFL fan. Just my opinion though.

A 2nd or 3rd is not a high price for a starting caliber QB, my friend. Just making a point.
Buffalo_Stampede Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 They could be right for all we know, Chris Brown hasnt said hes seen Losman working out yet. Strange that Brown has seen 50 or so players, but not Losman. Im starting not to believe the report that said Losman was in attendance. Strange that Chris Brown wasnt the one even reporting it.

Losman's there according to Brown March 25, 2008 Posted By: Chris Brown | Time: 3:51 PM LOSMAN IN ATTENDANCE: Buffalobills.com confirmed that QB J.P. Losman was in the building for the start of Buffalo's offseason program and did attend position meetings. ---
Buffalo_Stampede Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Losman's there according to Brown Thats not confirmed by Chris Brown, its a report that Chris Brown posted from BuffaloBills.com. Its a strange one. Why is it so hard for Brown to find Losman. Ive never heard Chris Brown refer to Buffalobills.com as a source, he is Buffalobills.com. lol, its weird.
Flbillsfan#1 Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 A 2nd or 3rd is not a high price for a starting caliber QB, my friend. Just making a point. They could have been asking for three first round picks for all we know.
SABURZFAN Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 So, others besides some of us Bills fans thinks JP is less than adequate. Naah.....like the article says.....they'll be lining up in droves right after the draft. Right? RIGHT? they'll be flipping over Ralph Wilson's Taurus to be the first to get to Losman.
Lurker Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Usually they are more reliable Their quality has been slipping in direct proportion to the growth in Internet sites covering the NFL. Whereas they used to have very good sources, the pool's pretty crouded now...and most good tips go to the 'deep pockets' sites.
bladiebla Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Losman's there according to Brown March 25, 2008 Posted By: Chris Brown | Time: 3:51 PM LOSMAN IN ATTENDANCE: Buffalobills.com confirmed that QB J.P. Losman was in the building for the start of Buffalo's offseason program and did attend position meetings. Position meetings could be an one on one with coaches and the gm about his trade request. It would technically still discuss his position as a QB. It doesnt have to be the new gameplan and/or personal areas of improvment. KFFL doesnt say anything about it though, so I assume they've kissed and made up for the time being. http://www.kffl.com/player/9412/NFL

Sounds like a good source to hang your hat on.
Peter Griffin Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 A 2nd or 3rd is not a high price for a starting caliber QB, my friend. Just making a point. Most NFL GMs don't see Losman as a starting caliber QB
Flbillsfan#1 Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Most NFL GMs don't see Losman as a starting caliber QBThis is EXACTLY why he should be a Bill next year. He has more value to Buffalo as a back up for a year than a low round draft pick would be.
