Local chefs feel the heat of ‘Hell’s Kitchen’

Despite all the yelling and insults he hurls on “Hell’s Kitchen,” renowned British chef Gordon Ramsay really is “a big old pussycat.” That’s the word from one of two Western New Yorkers who are among 15 chefs competing in the fourth edition of the popular reality show, which premieres at 9 p.m. Tuesday on WUTV. The two local chefs were chosen from about 22,000 contestants. Shayna Raichilson-Zadok, who operates a catering business out of her North Buffalo home, made the “pussycat” observation in a telephone interview. The second local chef, Bobby Anderson of Niagara Falls, also said the outrageous side of Ramsay – who was born in Scotland but raised in England – is as overdone as any pot roast.
