BillsD#1in2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 1.Devin Thomas WR Michigan State 2.Martellus Bennet TE Texas A&M (best all around TE in draft) 3.Terrell Thomas CB USC or Chevis Jackson CB LSU(both very good corners that could help right away at atleast nickel) 4.Brian Johnston DE Gardner-Webb(very productive in college, but can he do it at the NFL level, wow he is an intriguing freak of nature, hope he becomes a Bill) 5.Steve Johnson WR Kentucky(had a very good career at kentucky and led the SEC in just about everything, has good size and ran a 4.48 at his pro day, good red zone target and could be a steal as he most definitely could blossom into a very good NFL wideout) 6.Jamey Richard C Buffalo(very raw talent and could compete with Melvin for starting position, a hometown kid why not just stay in Buffalo buddy) 7.Maurice Murray DT New Mexico(very huge guy at 6'3 347 and well could be good in rotation and take up two defenders, space eater, good on run D and well he had 2 tackles and 1/2 sack in the Texas vs Nation game, intriguing at his size) 7.Nate Lyles SS Virginia(very strong work ethic and always is tough on himself to improve and who knows could come in on those 3 safety sets and could be good special teams player) kk go ahead criticize boys GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Astrobot Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 I like your draft, and yes we look at them. You do know there's good basketball on, right? In Round 6, I like Cody Wallace (Texas A&M) better. He's a blue collar, hard hitting slobberknocker of a OC. In Round 7, I'd take Derek Lokey (Texas), Red Bryant's sidekick, if he was there at DT. Benches 38 times, gets great pressure, and is a run stuffer. My other 7th Rounder is Mark Bradford, Stanford's WR, who's familiar with Trent Edwards. His 41" vertical was tops in WR's, I believe.
Fewell733 Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 interesting draft. Always nice to see some new names being tossed around. I'm a 1st round WR supporter and Thomas might be the best bet - total package - measurables, production, health, toughness I kind of feel like Bennett in the 2nd might be a reach. Bennett seems like he's physically gifted and seems like a good character guy and a solid enough blocker, but his college production doesn't really stand up to some of the other guys like Carlson (as a junior)and Fred Davis - as well as Rucker. Chevis Jackson is intriguing - he's got explosive athleticism (41 inch vertical!!), but very mediocre speed for a corner, and in the Senior Bowl drills he basically just mauled whatever receiver he was going up against. I'm not blown away by either he or Thomas cause they get more press being on top programs and have some serious question marks. But I don't think either of them are unrealistic picks in the 3rd at all. 1.Devin Thomas WR Michigan State2.Martellus Bennet TE Texas A&M (best all around TE in draft) 3.Terrell Thomas CB USC or Chevis Jackson CB LSU(both very good corners that could help right away at atleast nickel) 4.Brian Johnston DE Gardner-Webb(very productive in college, but can he do it at the NFL level, wow he is an intriguing freak of nature, hope he becomes a Bill) 5.Steve Johnson WR Kentucky(had a very good career at kentucky and led the SEC in just about everything, has good size and ran a 4.48 at his pro day, good red zone target and could be a steal as he most definitely could blossom into a very good NFL wideout) 6.Jamey Richard C Buffalo(very raw talent and could compete with Melvin for starting position, a hometown kid why not just stay in Buffalo buddy) 7.Maurice Murray DT New Mexico(very huge guy at 6'3 347 and well could be good in rotation and take up two defenders, space eater, good on run D and well he had 2 tackles and 1/2 sack in the Texas vs Nation game, intriguing at his size) 7.Nate Lyles SS Virginia(very strong work ethic and always is tough on himself to improve and who knows could come in on those 3 safety sets and could be good special teams player) kk go ahead criticize boys
