Tipster19 Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Is there a Qb, or QBs, that Edwards remind you of? Understanding his strengths and abilities may shed some light on who would be a better compliment for him in the receiving department. I'm not sure who he reminds me of physicly but his demeanor may be along the lines of someone like Joe Montana?? I meant be way off base on this one so I'm asking for some input for a better understanding. Thanks.
keepthefaith Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Joe Montana I don't think so. How about Marc Bulger.
Tipster19 Posted March 25, 2008 Author Posted March 25, 2008 Joe Montana I don't think so. How about Marc Bulger. Todd Collins..... If you could explain your reasoning it would give some understanding to what we have got on our hands. Thanks again.
thebug Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 If you could explain your reasoning it would give understanding to what we have got on our hands. Thanks again. Todd Collins: Just the way he stands in the pocket....both fair size guys, decent arms and smart about their play....
JuanGuzman Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 He actually reminds a lot of Danny McManus CFL hall of famer probably, not the greatest arm strength but a quick compact release, aware in the pocket and a leader on the field.
JimBob2232 Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 I don't think so. How about Marc Bulger. Bill Walsh said so.
Mikie2times Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 On the positive a young Tom Brady On the negative an old Kelly Holcomb
Turk Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Right know, Chad Pennington before the shoulder injury.
Oneonta Buffalo Fan Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 I see a mixed breed between three QBs Peyton Manning - For making reads before the snap and after Chad Pennington - Accuracy. Edwards deiffently has that. Donovan McNabb - Power. He doesn't have a pure cannon arm but can launch it if he wants to. See Edwards to Evans bomb or Edwards to Parrish throw.
keepthefaith Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Bill Walsh said so. While I've heard that Walsh liked Edwards, I have never heard or read that he compares Edwards to Joe Montana.
Adam Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 It may be a bit early to say, but he reminds me of Steve Walsh
Bill from NYC Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 I am surprised that nobody mentioned Matt Hasselback.
MartyBall4Buffalo Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 I am surprised that nobody mentioned Matt Hasselback. That's a great comparison. Similar build. Similar arm arm strength. I think Hasselbeck is a little bit more mobile, but Edwards can move around when need be.That's the closest physical skill set comparison you can get though. Nice catch
Beerball Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Edwards reminds me of a combination of Marino's quick release, Young's field vision, Elway's desire & Montana's poise.
Flbillsfan#1 Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Kyle Boller - Similar build, neither can find the END ZONE.
