Ned Flanders
He will always be known for installing the mic in Hitler's picture that hung in Klink's office...The History Channel recently named that one of the greatest innovations of the WWII. The Senator
Ah yes - a TV sitcom, based in a German POW camp...what will Hollywood think of next? RIP Ivan.
Wacka
Klink, LeBeau, Schultz, Major Hockstetter and General Burkhalter were all Jews. Robert Cleary (Le Beau) was even a concentration camp survivor and has the number tattooed on his arm. Werner Klemperer said that if they ever wrote a script where Hogan et al did not triumph over Klink, he would quit on the spot.

I had dinner with Col Klink and his pretty fraulein at the Players' Club, about 20 years ago...funny guy, it was pretty surreal, particularly since I wasn't expecting him at the dinner table....I grew up on "Hogan's Heroes" reruns (ch 29) as a kid...Robert Cleary came to speak at my Jr High, about his experiences during WWII. RIP Kinch!
