Kelly the Dog Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Pretty darn good director and by all accounts a fine gentleman. His first film, Truly, Madly. Deeply was a terrific little movie and highly underrated. http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/03/18/...t-Minghella.php

Wow. Kinda young, too. RIP.

Alan Rickman gave a great performance as well, even though he'll always be remembered for his Die Hard and Harry Potter roles.
Just Jack Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 ...but I thought The Talented Mr Ripley was one of the worst films I've seen. I agree. I remember seeing it, my then girlfriend and I were the only ones in the theater. That should have been our first clue it sucked. Every time we thought it would finally be over, he'd go and kill someone else.
Fewell733 Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Talented Mister Ripley was a great movie - though not at all pleasant to watch or really to think about - very discomforting but I thought it was a very well made movie. Guy was probably the best in the business at adapting novels to the screen in unflinching fashion.
The Dean Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 I liked The English Patient ELAINE: How about, it sucked? RIP Edit: BTW, I wonder who wrote "Sack Lunch"?
