Nick in RaChaCha Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 On HBO. Anyone watch last night? I don't have HBO. I would have watched it. I might rent it if it ever comes to DVD
BarkLessWagMore Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Watched it and thought it was great. Excellent cast. Giamatti is wonderful as usual. Really interesting history lesson for those of us too far removed from school. Really looking forward to the next installments.

However I don't remember any of my teachers in the Buffalo Public Schools telling me that 1st NY voted no to independence and in the final vote actually abstained. That took me by surprise. The guy who's playing George Washington looks eerily like the portraits I can remember of our 1st President.
Max Fischer Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 I agree. You won't know his name but will say, "oh, yeah, he was good in . . ." Overall good acting, well paced (for 50 years of history), and great sets and customs. Not exactly the "good old days." Big fan of Giamatti - American Slendor, Sideways, The Illusionist, etc.

LewPort71 Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 "Live or Die" was the first episode, followed by "Independence" both are repeated at 10:00PM tonight on HBO good show. Paul G. is very good as is Laura Linney as Abigail Adams

K-Gun10 Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 will be watching tonight, it got bad reviews from usa today and entertainment weekly, but looks amazing.
Campy Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Thanks my Camp. How ya doin? Not well at all. It's almost noon on St Pat's and I'm still sober.
John Adams Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 will be watching tonight, it got bad reviews from usa today and entertainment weekly, but looks amazing. WSJ loved it. I would take the reviews of my life story from more literate sources than EW. I'm just sayin'.
