Draft strategy barring a trade

Recommended Posts

Barring a trade, these are the players in order that I think the Bills should pick in Round 1 if they are available.

Peterson

Willis

Okoye

Hall

Lynch

Peterson would no doubt have an immediate impact on the offense, and Willis would immediately have an impact on the defense. Either one would work. My guess is that both could be gone, which would then lead the Bills to Okoye, Hall or Lynch. I really think any of these five would be worthy of the 12th pick.

I think it would be well worth it for the Bills to surrender one of their 3rd round picks to move up and grab Peterson, but I would hate to see them give up their second round pick.

That sounds about right.

Peterson would be awesome but he is going to be long gone IMO

Willis might fall but even that seems unlikely to me

Okoye would give the Bills a glut of 1 gap DT's but you can't pass on this guy IMO

Hall would upset many Bills fans but if the Bills have him rated higher then Lynch then you have to take him.

Lynch, I might swap Lynch with Hall based upon team need, but IMO if we can get a stop gap RB fpor this season, next years RB crop looks more promising.

I still think the Bills should trade for GB's pick who wants a rb, grab the extra second and now you have four picks in the 2nd and 3rd (still top 100 picks) to get two lbs, a cb, and a decent rb. With the first pick, I would grab Robert Meachem...he can make an impact right away and make our running game better because he is a deep threat along with Lee. Get Harris and Durant or Okwa with the second and third, and D. Hughes with Balt.'s third.

Take any of the next level rbs whoever the Bills feel fits their scheme the best with their other second pick. JMO.

I like the idea of getting a big WR, 2LB's, CB and RB on the first day. However, if Willis is there when we pick at 12, we have to take him. Not enough has been discussed about needing another game changing receiver. A good number 2 receiver thrown into the mix should really supercharge our offense.
