OnTheRocks Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 Very Nice starters all the way around but not much depth to write home about when the bye weeks come. Nice job overall. IMHO
Simon Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 8team league - good team 10team league - very good team 12team league - great team 14team league - you're playing with invalids and will win the league without a single roster adjustment I don't like the fact that you're not allowed to go with 3RB/2WR if you want a pounding groundgame, so I might look to add a more consistent veteran WR even if it costs you a little upside (ala Wayne). ACor58 Posted August 23, 2004 Author Posted August 23, 2004 Thanks for your feedback. I am in a 10 team league and I had the 2nd overall pick. It was a toss-up between LT and Portis but I just feel like Portis will have a big year in Gibbs' O this season.

marck Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 Not bad I guess, my league is 8 teams, with 15 players, and a 1 QB, 2 RB's, 3 WR/TE's a defense and a kicker. Culpepper & McNabb McCallister, Dillon, Barber & Eddie George Derrek Mason, Steve Smith, Chris Chamber, Larry Fitzgerald, Kellen Winslow Feeley & Lindell Eagles & Packers Wondered why you only had 14 picks and why only one kicker. Hasselbeck is an excellent fantasy QB and gets lots of passing yards, TD's and some running yards also. Brunell is gonna be a bust because within weeks he will be replaced by Patrick Ramsey. Portis will be very good, Henry is going to split carries far more then you think and McGahee might get a lot of the goalline carries based on what we have seen so far in the scrimmage and in preseason. Staley & Wheatly are wasted picks in my opinion. The Steve Smith pick is excellent, Walker & Wayne are #2 receivers for their teams, as is Peter Warrick. Rogers could be solid in Detroit. Excellent defense selections however, Baltimore gets sacks and turnovers and has a schedule that has the Browns and Steelers, along with the AFC East which has teams that are pretty poor on offense. along with the NFC East who has two very poor offensive teams in the Giants and Cowboys. Overall pretty good but what other receivers were left when you picked, only in that area do I have doubts about what you selected.

One note: Warrick is still injured, and the B'gals seem to be getting a bit worried.

Portis is a stud, even witha new team and no Jon Janson. Wheatley may even get some TDs, who knows. Hasselbeck is a solid QB, if you got hii after the 3rd rd it was a total steal. Steve Smith emerged as a fringe #1 guy last year...like him. Walker is a fence-sitter, could emerge as that #1 that Green bay usually puts out, remember Donald Drive ra few years ago, well JW has much more potential. Rogers, another sleeper. Reggie Wayne isa spot starter at best and Peter Warrick, who knows what the deal with him is. Bal= best D in the league. Ten= not as good as last yaer but still tends to produce sacks and turnovers. Elam= still one of the best Not a bad draft, you were one bigtime sleeper RB or established WR away from a REALLY good draft, but if i were u Id be quite happy about it. All depends on how many teams are in your league though. Also noticed that your league has no TE's.
