But here’s the chilling part, as revealed in Bill Moyers’ upcoming Buying the War (which will air on PBS on Wednesday, April 25 at 9 p.m.): after the president’s speech the White House press corps, those highly paid and highly visible big shots from CBS, CNN, the New York Times , The Washington Post and so on, started rasing their hands. But certain reporters had been pre-selected by the administration to be chosen by the president, something that everybody in the room was aware of. At one point, the president is shown to say, “This is scripted” and he makes a little laugh. Among the tough questions thrown to the president, or should we say, pre-selected, were “How is your faith guiding you?” to which the president responded, “ Quoted from the article. A scripted press conference on the war? How did I miss this and wtf? Is this for real? There seem to be a fair number of intelligent conservatives on this board. Is there a rebuttal to this? I will withhold my own take for now with one exception...if this proves to be true then the media should fry for it.
Wacka
I lived in CT for 2 years. The Hartford Advocate is one of those free left wing weekly rags, the kind with all the escort ads in the back. A real fair and balanced source. The only reason I grabbed it was because they had a good crossword puzzle in it. I'd cut it out and throw out the rest. A real fair and balanced source. How about Bill Moyer? Is he a commie pinko fag? And for the life of me I can't figure out why you single-minded conservative sheeple continue to run to the defense of a half-witted administration that has set American conservatism back 20 years....... UConn James
I've actually met the writer. He said he used to work at a dairy farm for $ for college back in his time. Co-started a statewide arts mag several years ago that gained its footing. And yes, the HA does keel to the left. That said, I don't doubt the veracity that all of the questions are pre-selected. The WH communications staff knows what they have in this president. Sh--, this is a man who, with text in front of him, regularly goes "...............uhh .............. .............. ........................ .......................... <disembodied giggle, perhaps at a poop joke he just remembered>............................. ........................ uhhh .... ............................ ..... uhhhh......" and uttered that he hoped that man and fish could live together peacefully. The reason I mention the farm work is that it closely resembles the model of the news cycle in this country. Pols/PR/etc. dump their swill into the media trough, it is consumed entirely w/o discretion, digested through several stomachs, and we the people are forced to pick through the feces to see if we can find anything like a clue to what is really happening. They are happy to get all the swill they can eat and until the people start asking questions themselves, are perfectly content not say anything to overly displease those who feed them. Have to remember that Bush used the emoptional impact of 9-11 to sell the war of choice in Iraq. The media was just as bullied as were the Democrats into this thing. "You're either for us or against us!" And don't forget, people like "Jeff Gannon" were allowed in as "journalists" to ask the President questions instead of real journalists. Serious questions were discredited, ridiculed and mocked by the right wing noise machine.

He's questioning the source. Isnt that a tenet of LIBERALISM? And be careful throwing around the term "sheeple", my boy....considering how you and yours march lockstep with Al Gore and treat those who even a BIT skeptical about the snake oil THAT guy is selling. Al Gore is a hypocritical pinhead and I've never voted for a democrat in my life, junior. And I find it hilariously ironic that a sycophant such as yourself would accuse somebody else of mindlessly following some hyperbolic doctrine and showing a complete lack of willingness to consider other perspectives. Better check with your controllers to learn your next canned response, RK_golden.
