The post regarding teams playing at a disadvantage when facing a team coming off of a bye inspired me to dust off my Thursday night football plan. Here it is:

Eight bye weeks during the middle of the season.

Bye weeks are by division. (All four teams are off)

All teams are scheduled to play a division rival the week after the bye week. One of those games is played on Thursday and the other on Sunday.

The benefits:

Nobody is at a disadvantage or advantage in the game after their bye week.

Thursday games are interesting division match ups

I get to see more football.

Thoughts?

Since when does the NFL care what the fans think? What's the bottom line? If it makes them scads of money, they'll take it under advisement.
