WR Calvin Johnson* (Georgia Tech) 6-5. 239 4.35 Early-entry junior with outstanding combination of size, athletic ability and character- very fast- fine burst- polished receiving skills- sure hands- agile leaper- very effective in traffic- reliable patterns- runs well after the catch- 76 catches, 15.8 per, 15 TDs, Biletnikoff award in '06- draft's best prospect. 2. T Joe Thomas (Wisconsin) 6-6 5/8 311 4.92 Natural LT- athletic- fast for OL- quick- agile, former TE- strong (28 reps)- fine pass protector- gets excellent position- good footwork- has improved hand use- solid run blocker, plays a little high at times- pulls and traps well- came back from '05 ACL surgery to win Outland award in '06- team leader. 3. HB Adrian Peterson* (Oklahoma) 6-1 1/2 217 4.40 Early-entry junior- big back with size, speed, quickness and power- agile- excellent balance and run vision-- great burst- powers through arm tackles- effective receiver- willing blocker- runs tall at times- potential franchise RB- broken collarbone in '06, 1012 yds, 5.4 per, 10 catches, 13 TDs in 7 games. 4. QB JaMarcus Russell* (L.S.U.) 6-5 1/2 265 4.80 Early-entry junior- great size with a cannon arm- gaining consistency and has steadily improved his accuracy and reads- fair mobility- can throw with rushers hanging on him- could shed a few pounds- had a peak performance in Sugar Bowl- 3129 yds, 67.8%, 28 TDs, 8 I'cepts, Manning award in '06. 5. DE Gaines Adams (Clemson) 6-4 3/4 258 4.64 Natural pass rusher- great burst off the edge, clocked the fastest 40 among DLs at combine- good balance- long arms- uses hands well to shed and bat down passes- has refined reads- developing run defender, could add some bulk for defending the POA- 62 tackles, 12.5 sacks, 17.5 TFL in '06. 6. S LaRon Landry (L.S.U.) 6-0 1/2 213 4.35 Good size- impressive speed at Indy- reliable instincts- can cover well in man or zone- good range- aggressive style- heavy hitter in run defense- sure tackler- blitzes well- starter since frosh year- natural feel for the game- 74 tackles, 3.5 for loss, 3 picks, 4 PBU in '06- brother Dawan is Raven DB. 10.
