yall Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Nothing earth shattering here, but got some mild "scoops" (if you could even call them that) on Everett and Thomas yesterday. One of my friends works at the casino in the Falls and sees a lot of the Bills on a regular basis. He mentioned that Everett, who is a regular, looks like he packed on about 20 pounds of muscle and looks "way more cut up and chiseled" according to him. He also mentioned that Thomas was a true gentleman, and is one of the nicest/classiest people that he has met. Like I said, nothing tremendous here, but just little info that I thought some of you might find interesting.
Ball'n Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 He mentioned that Everett, who is a regular, looks like he packed on about 20 pounds of muscle and looks "way more cut up and chiseled" according to him. I had high hopes for Everett becoming a passing threat when we drafted him, hopefully he has more of an impact this year.
LabattBlue Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 I had high hopes for Everett becoming a passing threat when we drafted him, hopefully he has more of an impact this year. More of an impact? Since he hasn't had ANY impact to date, it should not be too hard for him to attain this goal.
eball Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Thx for the info. We know what we have in A-Train. For Everett, this is a make-or-break year. I hope he has dedicated himself, because it would be disappointing if he becomes (remains) a 3rd round bust. Conversely, it would be like getting a player for free if the light suddenly comes on for him.
Alaska Darin Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 I had high hopes for Everett becoming a passing threat when we drafted him, hopefully he has more of an impact this year. I'd prefer him to become a receiving threat, as I've had my fill of the Mike Mularkey "draw up the clusterfuk in the sand" offense.
turftoe Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 When the bills drafted Everett, I thought it was a gamble. As it turns out, He is just a gambler.
Gordio Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 the lack of impact that Everret has made is a head scratcher. I remember him coming out of college was a tremendous athlete that is a little raw. I remember even his tightend coach from the U saying he thought that Everett has more upside then both Shockey & Winslow. Hopefully he gets it going this year he was definately put on notice from Levy's comments about him last month.

fbzh2 Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 I too remember what his coach said about him and thought that he was going to be what we needed at TE. Now, unless he proves otherwise my thinking is that it is just more hype from the hoodlum “U.”
billybob Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Everrts problems :1. he was a very slow study 2. Injury 3. not a good inline blocker too light at 240 - now he has said he is really spending time with the playbook, he has put on some good weight, and the injury is suppose to be 100% healed so who knows maybe he's going to show something this year- but it was his inability to grasp the playbook that made him such a big zero last year- contary to popular belief you can't be a great football player and a total dumba$$ at the same time.

Yeah, I heard that he and Willis took the same readin and writin classes at the U, and that they studied the Bills playbook together. The only upside so far on Everett is that he has not B word slapped the Buffalo women. Maybe Everett will finally emerge now that his mentor is gone to greener pastures.
MadBuffaloDisease Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Hard to call him a bust when he suffered an ACL injury before ever really even practicing with the team. That being said, he might not ever reach his potential because of the injury, both physically and psychologically.
stuckincincy Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 I'm sure they will give him a fair shot in training camp. Disappointment he may be to date, he was the 2nd of their six players picked in '05. And Bflo. wasn't the only team who had him on their list that year. Roscoe Parrish, Duke Preston are still here from that draft class. Eric King, Justin Geisinger (not sure), Lionel Gates - having been shown the door.
MDH Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 contary to popular belief you can't be a great football player and a total dumba$$ at the same time. Have you ever heard Lawrence Taylor speak?
Buftex Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 More of an impact? Since he hasn't had ANY impact to date, it should not be too hard for him to attain this goal. He really wasn't given a whole lot of opportunity...I still think Everett is a diamond in the rough. BTW- how about that? A Miami guy who goes out while he is WNY!
yall Posted April 6, 2007 Author Posted April 6, 2007 He really wasn't given a whole lot of opportunity...I still think Everett is a diamond in the rough.BTW- how about that? A Miami guy who goes out while he is WNY! True, I hadn't thought about that! One thing I've learned from the casino folks I know, a good portion of the Bills are regular at the casino. He used to tell me what a horrible gambler Travis Henry was, and that he would make the dumbest bets. One thing about Everett that he said was pretty funny happened earlier last year. My friend picked up KE in a late round in his fantasy draft, as a backup TE, but eventually dropped him. One day his fiancee (also a casino dealer) had KE at a table and he wasn't tipping well so she apparently let him know that her man "just dropped you from his fantasy team". Always makes me laugh.
billybob Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Have you ever heard Lawrence Taylor speak? alot of football players are dumba$$es in life but got football smarts a total dumba$$ is a revolving Dumba$$ thats a guy who's a dumba$$ no matter how you look at him.
MarkyMannn Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 He used to tell me what a horrible gambler Travis Henry was, and that he would make the dumbest bets. Like when he thought: "I bet that girl is 18"
