buckeyemike Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 The Buffalo Sabres! No linky, but the Sabes are #1 in the Sportsnation poll for the first time. It is in this week's issue of ESPN Magazine. I don't know if this was posted here earlier, since I was out of town this week, but I thought I'd let you all know. "It's all good in the Land of Wings: Season ticket sales have rocketed from 5,800 to 14,815 since the 2002-03 season, while local TV ratings have tripled. In February the seven best-selling jerseys at NHL.com belonged to Sidney Crosby and six Sabres, part of a jump of more than 1,000% in sales of Sabres swag over the past year. The team is now worth $149 million, and after losing $46 million over the first half of the decade, it turned close to a $4.6 million profit in 2005-06, according to Forbes." Nothing about Sluggalo, though.
Oneonta Buffalo Fan Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 At least ESPN is doing something good for a Buffalo team for once.
Jukester Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Here's a link from today's D&C: Sabres ranked tops and Bills are 'flops'
Cornerville Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 At least ESPN is doing something good for a Buffalo team for once. And it still means NOTHING...why is validation from ESPN so important to you?
