Simon Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Welcome to Buffalo Ricky Williams! His suspension is up and it looks like he's probably going to be re-instated by the league. He could be had for next to nothing and I think he'd be a spectacular fit with the Bills. At the very least he could effectively platoon with a-train for the next year or two while the Bills find their back of the future. Pissing in a cup every week the poor sumbitch aint going to be able to smoke rope and will likely be in a sour mood. Bring that freak daddy up here and let him run over and around folks!
Oneonta Buffalo Fan Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Welcome to Buffalo Ricky Williams! You must be joking. I know you're joking.

Good idea but we can't. He's already said at least two good things about Toronto.
Tipster19 Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Well, if we can't play in Canada let's bring the Canadian players here!
The Dean Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Actually (I'm ducking now) I wouldn't mind Ricky at all. This would be the perfect time to get him, too. But, it won't happen. We all know it. Nice to see Simon around, though.

I 90 Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Laugh while you can, monkey boys... Ricky is going help whoever takes the risk. Talent trumps misadventure.
Welcome To Pegulavilla Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Laugh while you can, monkey boys... Ricky is going help whoever takes the risk. Talent trumps misadventure. 231yds on 56 carries, 1td, 4.1 ypc, 1 td, 7 receptions for 58yds. he missed a few games due to injury.

Nice to see Simon around, though. I wouldn't mind Ricky at all either. The guy smokes pot, it's not like he beats his girlfriend or robs quickie marts.
I 90 Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 231yds on 56 carries, 1td, 4.1 ypc, 1 td, 7 receptions for 58yds. he missed a few games due to injury. The very definition of misadventure. He was asked to do things that he was barely familiar with. I fully expected him to wreck that team. Both he and they survived.
The Dean Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 I wouldn't mind Ricky at all either. The guy smokes pot, it's not like he beats his girlfriend or robs quickie marts. The only real BAD thing Ricky did was dessert his team, IMO. I couldn't give a rat's ass about the pot thing (other than the NFL tests and suspends for it). But, it will be hard to convince some coaches and players that he'll stick with them through thick and thin. That hurdle is the one I'm not sure he can make, in Marv's eyes. Also, he is still property of the Phins, I believe. So the Bills will have to make a deal with Miami for a guy with "questionable" character. I'd love to take a flyer on the guy...but it ain't gonna happen and we KNOW it ain't gonna happen. (Can we alt least agree on that?)
JohninMinn. Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 You youngsters don't know Marv is a character guy.... I'd roll the dice myself.
I 90 Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Marv is an man who might appreciate a youngster's struggle with social anxiety disorder. He might give the boy credit for surviving the transition from Paxil to weed to teaching tubby women yoga in Northern California. What he won't do is part with a draft pick for his services.

VERY sensible post. I commend you, barren highway.
Simon Posted April 1, 2007 Author Posted April 1, 2007 The only real BAD thing Ricky did was dessert his team, IMO. But was it really a bad thing that he did? If the guy was exploring his spirituality and his heart was not into getting his head beat in every day or being accosted wherever he went on any night, was it wrong for him to call it off? I think most guys would have kept taking the money while just going through the motions and possibly hurting team morale in the process; to me that is the wrong thing. Given the choices of being honest with yourself and your teammates and retiring or half-assing your way through the season when guys are depending on you, I think Ricky made the right choice. Call me a sucker but I also think that he's going to be an asset for whoever has the foresight to bring him in. And it's nice to be back around again
Pyrite Gal Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 We want character guys? Well who has been a bigger character than Wickey?

And it's nice to be back around again Wow...what's that music I hear...so nice and mellow. I actually agree with everything you say, Simon (not surprisingly). But, I'm not sure the average football player, or coach, does. Also, they may have a little problem with the TIMING of the whole incident (right before the season...after a failed drug test...but, I digress). Taking the 30 or so seconds it took me to type the above paragraph (it's late, I'm drunk, give me a break) I realized, Marv is NOT the average football man, In fact, he is as far from the AVERAGE football man as it gets. Do you think... Fuggedaboudit! Not gunna happen, bro.
PromoTheRobot Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 If we can get Ricky for a 7th, why the hell not? PTR
