NavyBillsFan Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 CAN THEY DO THAT? That would be something..... That could send waves to baseball owners and players. All teams telling their old players to get lost and then starting all over again. Can that happen or is it legal? What happens to these guys who get locked out? Do they still get paid or is the whole NHL on hold right now?
swede316 Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 No...But the NHLPA needs to accept the fact that a salary cap is the only way the NHL will remains viable.
Tux of Borg Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 It's a unique situation as the owners locked the players out. If the players went on strike, the owners could replace them with "scabs" for a fraction of the price. Personally I'd rather watch guys who have less talent but more heart play the game.
