I am really looking forward to having a high third round pick next year from the Ravens..if Ogden retires--they will not be an upper tier team (their OL will suck)..and Willis and Drew Rosenhaus will be whining again about running behind an inept Offensive Line.

Willis will probably end up with the crabs and I am not talking the crab cakes on the inner harbor....

I think you maybe right on this post. Anybody that watched Mcnair for the last 1/2 of the season could see this guy has nothing left in the tank. Their oline is a concern & their defense is not getting any younger. I see this team winning only 6-7 games next year.

I hope he fails miserably in Baltimore.

His mother sounds like an incredible person though, props to her.

That is an interesting article.

I was always very impressed by how hard he had to work to come back from that injury. I remember seeing him play in the Browns scrimmage a couple of years ago.... his first semi-real action since his injury and he looked great. It was very promising.

I would think, his agent would have had a conversation with him about toning down his criticism of the Bills and the city of Buffalo.

He is a marketing nightmare.

I don't wish him any injury, but I do hope he fails since "we are now Ravens".

Apparently his mommy will take care of him just like she takes care of all his other poor decisions.

His mother is a whore too.

right, being in a city that has a great club scene is not a rule. just look at Peyton Manning or Jim Kelly. they both were in cities where the party scene sucks. but they are both able to find a good enough time to keep them happy. their main focus obviously is not on the level of club they are attending. EVERY player is going to go out for dinner/drinks. why wouldnt they?!? they are mostly in their 20s, making millions. great for them. but for MOST OF THEM, they worry primarily about football, and settle on going out where ever they are...

"being in a city where you can party is not a rule, or the standard for a professional athlete who is serious about their career"

both Manning and Kelly are in crap-party cities. they are fine with it and make the best of it cause they know they are not there to party.

got it?

Anybody that says the party secen sucks in buffalo go down to Chippewa on a thurs, fri or sat night. It is like Mardi Gras their every weekend. Obviously it is not south beach, but I would venture to say it is comparable to 75-80% of the NFL cities.

If the public is finding out about this now, they the club knew about this a long time ago. Good, he's gone, turn the page. The thing that shines the brightest from all his comments is just how lacking in character he really is. Character is being the same person, through thick and thin. If Willis can't look around him, with a fat wallet, and find something to do, then he is simple, and will always be simple. If he has to depend on others to control his fun, then he obviously cannot control other aspects of his life. Go to Baltimore, let Reed and Lewis Shepard you around, oogle at the lights, talk about the U, and have fun. You don't get it, you don't get Buffalo, have fun being a lemming.

get outta town...

no seriously, get out of buffalo and check out some other cities. the "Chip Strip" is pitiful. dont get me wrong, I PERSONALLY, love partying in Buffalo. but it is no where near the level that some of these guys experience in other places. i was a little harsh on Buffalo, but it was only to illustrate a point. but cmon, the chip strip is like every crappy frat house threw up on delaware ave.

We go to a differnet bills away game every year. Is Blo Miami, or New Orleans, or NYC, or las Vegas no. But I will tell you, describing chain restaurants, that sounds more like Charlotte then Blo. There is a bar on every corner in blo.

The worst thing about his stay in Buffalo is that it sounds like he did not try to get involved in the community at all. The bars and restaurants scene in Buffalo as BETTER than that in other cites if the same size. I have been to many cities in the US and abroad. JP seems to enjoy the city and he is from So. Cal.

Willis has never right for the team or the city. Another TD blunder. You think he would be grateful for getting his NFL start as a 1st rounder here. The Bills invested in him and he did not payback.

yeah when you think about some places they have teams (Jax, Indy, Cleveland, Cinn, Pitt, Balt, St Louis, Phoenix, etc) the bar scene as a whole is probably better in Buffalo. i just had to LOL when i saw Chippewa mentioned.

shoot, ive been to Baltimore a bunch. unfortunately. Willis must be able to catch a direct flight home from there or something because there is less to do there than in Buffalo. Im not sure why he is so thrilled to be THERE. but coming from a kid who was confused on his first flight into Buffalo because he didnt see the Empire State Building when he landed... im not surprised.

Buffalo is not Miami, LA, NY, Chicago or San Francisco. IMO, it compares VERY favorably (in a party/drinking sense) to Baltimore, Jacksonville, Green Bay, Denver, Cleveland, Indianapolis...you get the picture.

Do the bars still close at 4am in the Bufftown? If not, what then...3am? They close at 1am in San Francisco (if I'm not mistaken)...same in Boston, no?

Anyone who thinks Baltimore is a better "party town" than Buffalo must be smoking crack...CRACK..that's probably a LITTLE easier to get in Baltimore, than in Buffalo.

Also, a big $ athlete living in the Bufftown has very close access to Niagara Falls, Ont, where there strip clubs and hookers are plentiful. Toronto, a world class city, is a short chauffeur-driven Hummer limo drive away.

What WM seems to be saying is he wants to be a STAR...live the HIGH LIFE...be a BIG MAN! The Bufftown isn't that kind of place. It's a working person's town. WNYers don't fawn over celebrities the way people do in some of these big cities.

Certainly Willis could have found a BEAUTIFUL woman or three in WNY and had assorted gofers to do his bidding. But, he wouldn't be constantly surrounded by painted model-wannabees and hip-hop babe/porn stars. He wouldn't have a strong-armed posy, who brandish their glocks in public with impunity.

The most hilarious thing about McDoofus's pronouncements about the relative merits of American urban regions is that he's now in ... Baltimore.

Don't get me wrong -- I like Baltimore. It's got a great history, and it's a northern industrial city like Buffalo. But the city is also an utter mess, with homicide rates that are among the top three nationally pretty much every year. Indeed, a couple of years ago, there was a lead story in the Baltimore Sun about how heroin overdose deaths in Baltimore had finally surpassed the number of homicides (they had been close for years). We're talking close to 400 *heroin overdose deaths* a year!! Its economy is terrible, and not much better than Buffalo's (if at all). There's a reason that shows like the Wire and Homicide are always set in Baltimore. In fact, a pretty good academic book about how broken-windows policing isn't actually the panacea that everyone thought it was uses -- you guessed it -- Baltimore to disprove the theory (Baltimore never underwent a crime decline in the late 1990s despite adopting those sorts of policing methods).

But hey, Willis probably isn't go to live in the city anyway, and I hear the women in the suburban Baltimore TGIF's and Applebee's are mighty fine.

Willis should have spent more time with Travis Henry. He had no problem finding chicks at Chuckee Cheese.

Ok, you're taking it a little to far. You think Joe Thronton is a saint? Or Cheechoo? Or political figures? Or actors? If you honestly have that high of standards, you probably will need to get rid of your tv all together.

The good thing is that Marv and company are building a roster of guys you can be proud of. Now let's just hope it translates into some wins.

Not sure if Cheechoo and Thorton are saints but they are decent guys. No controversy what so ever. Never hear any crap like they want to play in Toronto and I know they don't have a bunch of kids running around. Hey, if they are single and having fun no problem. I do agree with you on the actors and politicians though. Cheechoo is an especially interesting story actually. There was a great story on him in ESPN magazine.

Buffalo's bar, restaurant and music scene is better than Jax, Indy, Cinn, Balt and Stl. I have lived in Balt and Stl. They have nothing on Buffalo/WNY in this area.

Jax and Indy are bland to say the least.
