The Dean Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 Good stuff, Dean. And if PT isn't heavy enough for you, check out the work Steven Wilson did producing and contributing to the band Opeth. It's not my cup of tea personally, but this is probably more along the lines of what BlueFire was asking for originally. http://youtube.com/watch?v=qsO94_22Bgs Wow...good stuff...well, some of it, anyway. Stupid hair tossing: Affected Distorted Vocals General musicianship What's interesting is the clean guitar juxtaposed with the distorted raunchy vocals. I think that's cool, except the vocals are so OVER distorted as to be ridiculous. i dig the time signature changes and the tightness of the band. Thanks
Chilly Posted April 6, 2007 Author Posted April 6, 2007 Have you heard of Trivium? I saw Trivium live when I was at an In Flames concert. Not a bad band. I've finally figured out the Genre I've been looking for though, its called "Melodic Death Metal". In Flames is looked at as one of the originators of this style with Episode 666 and Jotun. It includes such bands as Arch Enemy, Opeth, Trivium, Children of Bodom, and Soilwork. Dean: Hairtossing is fun live. Though, I suspect you might like older In Flames better. Check this out: Clayman (live) Only for the Weak Pinball Map
