Oneonta Buffalo Fan
That's not the point....the point is I believe the Sabres won't win. Even though what I've been saying sounds absolutely crazy to some people, I still believe we will win it all.
Mile High
Love the enthusiasm, kid. You found a new toy (TSW) and you're playing with it non-stop. Take a deep breath and consider that quality, not quantity, may be the way to go. I'll second that. Relax with all the doom and gloom and try looking at some porn or something. I don't know, maybe wax one out once in awhile, gezzzzzzzz. A kid your age should be chasing tail and trying to figure out what "the stranger" means. meazza
All I have to say is wow man. Now I truly understand why some people will never be satisfied. Isn't this team on track to be the the single greatest Buffalo sports team of all time? I think so..... And if they do win the cup it will be that much sweeter. Right? Why don't we ask our non-Sabres fan and my friend Meazza... Meazza do you feel that the Sabres (being a Canadiens fan and all) ahve hit a road block of late? And, how do the non-Buffalo fans in the league view this team, seriously? Not really. Like I have said numerous times, when you play 82 games a season, you're not going to play them all well. It is something that is very difficult. The Sabres have managed to be one of the best teams in the league up to the 72 game point. Does it mean they'll dominate in the playoffs, don't know. Does it mean they'll win the cup, no !@#$ing clue. But I'll give you a true definition of a roadblock. The Montreal Canadiens. Not only did they hit a roadblock, but I think they threw up all over it.

meazza
Calgary? The team that's currently entrenched in the 8th spot and who has been relatively healthy all year? Tell me, where can I bet money in Vegas on them NOT winning the Cup this year? They could. This is the NHL.. How much would you have put on the Oilers making the finals? How much would you have put on Carolina winning the cup with a backup rookie goaltender. Anything could happen.

Yes, that was MY point. Your belief that Calgary could win it all is no more valid than Sabres' fans' belief that the Sabres will win the cup. But the odds don't favor either team. meazza
Is Huet out for the year? I think so. I really wish ol Bob had the balls to blow this team up and try to build a solid foundation. Like eggs benedict told me a while ago, sitting on the fence like they did was the worst thing Gainey could have done. So you think you're good enough to make the playoffs yet you don't want to bring in someone to helpl down the stretch or so you think you're not good enough so you don't get rid of your stars and build for the future. Finishing between 7th and 8th place all the time is not something that will take a team very far.
Dwight Drane
Got PayPal? I'm up for it.....Sabres win the Cup, I'll PayPal you $20. Sabres don't win, you give the Erie County SPCA $20 on your honor. Decent?
Dwight Drane
Even though what I've been saying sounds absolutely crazy to some people, I still believe we will win it all. That's cool. You have the perfect mix. You want them to win and think they will win, but are willing to look at the negatives as well as the positives. I want them to win too, I just don't think they will. Mile High
Shouldn't you give him 31-to-1 odds? After all, you said that it's "31 against 1".... So I would get 31x$20? And the pups at the SPCA would get $20? Which means my pay out would be $620. Not bad.
Bmwolf21
I'm aware we clinched a playoff berth but we haven't been playing like a playoff team in the past few weeks.I don't think 6 years is short. I'm frustrated with their apparent lack of focus & effort some nights, but with all the injuries, I am not ready to push the panic button. If they are 3, 4 games from the start of the playoffs and are still struggling with focus, then I'll start to worry.... But a fan for 6 years? So you missed the nine-year, "Can't get out of the 1st round" nightmare, a good chunk of the Rigas Error, err Era, the Aud, the Phantom Goal, (I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on No Goal), the Hasek-Nolan-Nuckler-Barnaby soap opera...I don't think you've suffered enough as a Sabre fan to B word yet... Calgary? The team that's currently entrenched in the 8th spot and who has been relatively healthy all year? Tell me, where can I bet money in Vegas on them NOT winning the Cup this year? A team that is going to get into the playoffs as a 7/8 seed and is HORRIBLE on the road (9-18-8) will need a lot of luck to make it to the Cup, let alone win it. But then again, stranger things have happened - who would have picked Edmonton last year? That's not the point....the point is I believe the Sabres won't win. It's 31 against 1 and I'll take the 31. Wouldn't it be more like 15 against 1, now that we have qualified for the playoffs and we'll likely have a high seed to boot... I will partially agree with you on the teams you mentioned - Atlanta & Pittsburgh could both knock us out. Atlanta scares the living crap out of me, as they have just enough offensive firepower, a solid goalie that seems to never get rattled, veteran leadership and they can skate with the Sabres. Pittsburgh is a different team since they picked up Roberts, and if Fleury gets hot, they'll surprise some teams in the playoffs. Ottawa, OTOH, has no heart, and I can see them golfing early again. CosmicBills
Take a deep breath and consider that quality, not quantity, may be the way to go. This is the best advice for anyone. Seriously ... I wish more people followed it. LSI is an easy target because he's young and so often a chicken little / flip-flopper. I'm hoping for him to turn a corner. Though his "I'm never going to drink" thread is a bit alarming.
