get off the schneid

To break a scoreless or hitless or winless streak (i.e., a schneid). According to the Dickson Baseball Dictionary, the term "schneid" comes to baseball via gin rummy, and in turn comes from German / Yiddish "schneider," one who cuts cloth, i.e., a tailor.

Take it for what it's worth

It can get better. Switch the Sabres to the Sharks back to back and trade March for October when the NFL is going.

I beg to differ. I love the NFL and NHL, but IMO no two days in any sport can compete with the first two days of the NCAA tourney.
