Fewell733 Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 The board is suffering from too much Lynch tunnel vision. Let's take a look at some of our other options that will be around in rounds 2 through 4 Brandon Jackson, Nebraska - Tony Hunt, PSU - Antonio Pittman, OSU - http://youtube.com/watch?v=fMhonqcbXv8 Kenny Irons - Auburn (at the 1:48 mark) - http://youtube.com/watch?v=rzOQOOMId0c Michael Bush - Louisville (at 4:29 of same video as above) - http://youtube.com/watch?v=rzOQOOMId0c Darius Walker - ND (extremely lame tribute video) - http://youtube.com/watch?v=6h32lYOUksw of these guys I'm most impressed with Jackson, Hunt and Pittman
tennesseeboy Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 You know the strength of the running backs after Peterson is pretty bunched up among four or five guys, one of whom will be available in the second. Hence I'm feeling good about Okoye, Branch or Willis at 12. I could live with Lynch as a first round pick but I don't think there is much of a talent dropoff when you look at the guys you posted.
Fewell733 Posted March 12, 2007 Author Posted March 12, 2007 Another thing is that I could easily see us taking more than one back in this year's draft.
Poeticlaw Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Pittman was truly impressive. He seem to see the holes well. Bush and Darrius walker were good too. I wouldnt be upset as long as its one of these three when the rest are off the board. Considering the resigning of A-train we will not draft a RB in the first rd.

Are there OL prospects from Nebraska? From the short videos I liked Hunt, Bush and Irons. It is good to know that there will likely be a good RB available in round 2 if we elect to go that way.
ThreeBillsDrive Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Bush's highlight reel was really impressive. Does he run like this all the time?
Dawgg Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 THANK YOU. As Denver has shown us time after time, starting backs can be found in the middle rounds. obie_wan Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Bush's highlight reel was really impressive. Does he run like this all the time? he hasn't done it since he tore up his leg. The big downside with Bush is that he can't or won't block- which will get JP killed.
ch19079 Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 I like Brandon Jackobs from Nebraska. he doesnt have much playing time, only about 1 season, but hes quick, elusive, and can catch. and we can probubly get him in the 3rd round.
sarmanuscg07 Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 as you can see im high on lynch.. dont think we are high enough in the draft to get peterson.. i guess if bills go willis in rd one i would be very happy to see tony hunt in the second or maybe pittman in the 3rd?? i think a lot of these guys will drop farther then you might think being that there are so many.. you also left out brian leonard from rutgers btw...

And from the highlights he's hard to bring down, and loves to hit the defender. I like him, too.

makbeer Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 I don't like how Walker runs...he goes out of bounds a lot to avoid hits and I 'm scared about Bush's leg - not to mention for a big guy, Bush seems to go down pretty easy and tries to dance around tacklers he could easily plow over. Irons or Pittman would make me a happy camper.
Bills Fan888 Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Loved the videos. Most impressed with 1).Pittman, 2).Hunt, 3).Bush but if Bush can't block I don't want him.
Squeally Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Loved the videos. Most impressed with 1).Pittman, 2).Hunt, 3).Bush but if Bush can't block I don't want him. I agree, Pittman and Hunt were impressive. I hadn't seen any of their clips before...I'd be happy with either of them!

In fact, I wouldn't draft a RB after Lynch before R3. Not at all interested in seeing the Bills pick Michael Bush. The injury scares me, but in general, I do not like oversized RBs. They usually just end up being big targets for the defense to tackle.

The biggest thing that scares me about Bush is his reported inability or lack of desire to block.
Dwight Drane Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Nice finds on the video. I honestly couldn't tell you anything about watching them during games as I am not much of an NCAA fan. But I can break them down physically and their motion. By far my favorite is Hunt. Hunt- Has size and POWER. He is so powerful in the hips and is fluid in his motion. He wastes little motion in his running and is big enough to lay out licks. He runs like we all wanted Willis to Jackson- Looks more of an all purpose type. He avoided major hits and I saw him dinking and dunking while still moving north-south, not east west. Maybe a bit small, but looks balanced. Looks like a "smart" player from the highlight reel. I don't like any of the other guys enough to get excited about. Pittman- Blazing fast, but he is too small to take the shots that he does. You might have a flashy back for a year or two, then he's dead Lynch- I HATE the way he moves. He looks bow-legged. That will wear you down, and prevent you from moving piles. Bush- A fat Lynch...stay away Irons- Looks like a mix between Pittman and Jackson. Didn't love him but can't knock him. Walker- Every play he went to the outside. It could just be that the guy who put the video together is a flamer...but he is of no interest to me from that clip. Hunt looks like top 10 material Jackson looks like a 2nd round Thurman pick
