SDS Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 In trying to determine if our server is I/O bound, but there is no "wait" percentage listed under my CPU stats like some people have alluded to. Does anyone know how to determine how I/O bound we are? Normally when we are loaded heavily, the CPU is at 75% and higher, so maybe I/O isn't an issue (I had read if the CPU load is low, but the "wait" is high - then it is I/O). We are running FreeBSD FWIW.

What version of FreeBSD are you using? 2. Are you running the generic kernel or have you optimized it? 3. Do you know if mysql has been tuned for performance? 4. What type of hardware are you running things on? Newer, older?
