PromoTheRobot Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Since our options at a FA RB are drying up, we may well have to do with a rookie or a lesser-known veteran. But since we have upgraded our O-line with some run blocking specialists, do you think that almost any competant RB will look good if the O-line creates the proverbial "holes big enough to drive a truck through"? PTR
Fan in San Diego Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Yes ask Emmitt Smith. Benificiary of a great OL. Put him behind a crappy line and he'll be on the chump heap in quick order.
stuckincincy Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 The quality of the QB and the receivers matter, too.

PTR In short, yes. I said this in a previous thread: a good OL will make an average RB look good, a great OL will make a good RB look great, but only a great RB makes a poor or average OL look good, and how many truly great RB's are there? I'd rather have a good OL than a good RB, in other words, if I had to pick one, especially since a good OL allows all facets of an offense the potential to be successful, not just the running game.
