Still need to review my tape but

I have yet to review my tape of the game having gotten back from WNY yesterday after attending the game, But it appeared that the Bills 3rd down *and 2nd down too I think) stunts always seemed to leave the middle of the line vulnerable. The Titans got a ton of yardage up the gut - our guys weren't blown away, they simply weren't there. (!?)

I imagine either this was not and will not be the plan of Gray during the regular season OR will be corrected after reviewing the tapes. You gotta leave one big guy and one LB in the middle.

If anyone has a chance to review the tapes b4 I do, can they take a look at that??

*************

I thought travis henry looked pretty good. he did put the ball on the carpet once. McGahee seemed to have no punch after he scored his TD. Seemed to be running tentatively. Just my opinion from the upper deck.....

JP took a BAD sack pushing the Bills out of FG range early in the 4th. (not that DB wouldn't have been creamed too but ...c'mon JP. You're supposed to be the snakey one.

McGee was awesome both in coverage and on returns. In fact, except for the last kickoff, the Bills kickoff team appears to be top notch. Orlando B...yer outta here (hooray!). I like SImonton but he sure falls down when he is simply touched. Aiken made a great non-catch just out of bounds Sunday. DB looked a l-i-t-t-l-e more comfortable throwing screens Sunday. dare I hope he's learning....????

I am so glad the Bills had all the personal foul penalties now and not opening day. Thses types of penalties are a CLEAR inditement of the head coach. Any coach (except maybe GW) will respond to this type of behavior by getting in the face of his players in practice and make it clear that there are SERIOUS ramifications for STUPID penalties (fines, demotions to 2nd string, and outright release). I trust Mularky knows what to do to fix this "little" problem.

See y'all in Hammers on the 12th

When Mularkey got here there was a lot of talk about the team getting tougher mentally and physically. Mularkey himself made a comment about the players "finishing" plays. When I watched the game I noticed more downfiled blocking than I've seen in a long long time from the Bills. Since I couldn't see many of the actual penalties, I'm thinking that they were continuation files. It may be more an issue of smarts and timing than an actual problem. I did see Shelton's penalty and that was purely the result of him coming to Eric's defense. I'll take that penalty anyday.

What was encouraging to me is the type of penalties we DIDN'T see. We didn't see a lot of false starts and illegal formations. This means the implementation of the new offense is going well. That is very encouraging.

Yeah, if I had to pick one thing I've noticed about this team since Mularkey took the reigns, it's that they are much more aggressive than before. Sounds ridiculous, but that preseason game against Denver impressed the crap out of me. The defense was flying around hammering people....the offense was more crisp and disciplined. I don't know what the hell happened to Greggo after that great interview he suppposedly had with TD, but the way this team has played so far this preaseason goes to show that they never really responded to GW at all.

I have to agree....the penalties we had Saturday were mostly "aggressive" types, nopt mental errors....those are more easily corrected....I actually thought the Titans took more dumb" penalties..offsides, false starts, etc....
